Goalposts moved successfully.  Thank you for admitting that prices haven't dropped but rather you adjusted your groceries to save a few bucks.  Swapping beef for beans will do that.

Seeing that energy prices are now higher and prices did not drop, Are you able to man up and admit you were wrong?

Grocery prices are not always going up.  This is a lie.  For 2 years (2016-2017) grocery prices were lowered.  2009 as well saw a grocery price decrease.  There is a food price index published by the BLS that tracks grocery prices.  You should look into it.

@5-Points predicted that energy prices and grocery prices would decrease.  He was wrong.  The only question remaining is is he man enough to admit he was wrong?

When it comes to financial numbers they are quite literal.  Grocery prices decreased during the first year of Trump term as stated earlier, 2016-2017 decrease.  They also decreased for 3 out of 12 months in 2023 and 2024 despite being higher overall for each year.  Same in 2025.  This is why we look at the annual trend.  More accurate.  2025 ended higher.  2026 is trending much higher.  Thank you for looking at the data and agreeing that I am correct and @5-Points is incorrect.  The only question remaining is is he man enough to admit he was wrong?

lost?  playing a game?  I'm not playing a game.  I'm simply discussing data.

On 1/26/25 @5-Points stated "If grocery prices aren't lower at this time next year, I'll do the same.* "

The Food at Home index in January 2025 was 310.817.  In January 2026 it was 317.589.  That is an increase.  Source: https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CUSR0000SAF11

    Am I wrong?

    *Admit being wrong

It did rise faster under Biden which is not my cause.  It also rose under Trump which @5-Points said wouldn't happen but it did.

Holy sh!t, someone is starved for my attention. You must be one of those people who calls someone and when they don't answer, you immediately call right back instead of leaving a vm or sending a text. ITSATIP, nobody likes you.

First of all, there is no way you could possibly know how much I spent on groceries in January of '25 vs January of '26. And there is no way I could prove it to you, we're I so inclined, which I am not.

There are many ways to reduce one's grocery bill. I have not changed what I buy, I've changed the way I shop. In fact, I've been able to save so much money in other areas that I am spending more on beef these days. Costco's Wagyu rib eyes and tri-tip on the Traeger are focking delicious!

Also, look at a calendar, it isn't January, it's June. Gas prices were lower in January before Iran decided to intervene in the interim.

I am spending less on groceries monthly these days than I did in January of '25. Deal with it.

After 29 years, I’ve wanted to be a soldier as long as I can remember.

bittersweet, but my body is just breaking down anymore.  4 surgeries on my shoulder alone in the past three years.

    its time

30 years of slapping spoonfuls of mashed potatoes on a tray takes a toll.

Congrats on a long and distinguished career. Enjoy the well deserved time off.

Of course. That’s already a law BTW. Perhaps you’re not familiar with our citizenship laws?

Wait, are you trying to claim that California doesn't allow non-citizens to vote?

The large red areas on the map are an illusion since few people live in the red parts. Most people live on the coast, where the population density is massive, they vote heavily blue, and easily drown out the red votes in outlying areas to the east and north.

Most people don't live on the coast. They haven't been building more homes on the coast for a while. A lot of rich people live on the coast because they are the only ones who can afford to do so.

The vast majority of new home building is in the central part of the state from the bottom to the top.

Watch this year's Gubernatorial election closely. The people of California are tired of the Dem's buIIshit. We might end up with two Republicans on the November ballot. Its a long shot, but it might just happen.

ETA: a lot of those rich coastal elites are leaving the state because of the buIIshit they voted for. California is experiencing an exodus not seen before in it's history. With any luck, this state will lose electoral votes and senate seats in the coming years.

I was in so many fights in my youth. I got my ass kicked a few times (very few) but I never went down like I see these people today going down. What’s going on? Soft jaws or good punches?

Same. Won some, lost some. I don't remember many one punch ko's from back in the day.

I'm guessing softer jaws because we traded some pretty good shots back then.

But as a Gen X'er, that was what we did. We didn't sucker punch people or headstomp them. We went toe to toe, one on one. Like men.

I'm cool with people vote for the government they want.

The reason that I don't want to tell blue people how to run blue states is because when the shoe is on the other foot, I don't want them telling us how to run ours.

We have whole different ideas on how to live our lives on laws and morals and ethics. I don't want to kill them or anything.  Just go live over there amongst your own kind, leave us the fock alone, and feel free to do what you want (and don't get any on me).

California isn't a blue state. Its a red state with too many blue idiots in certain locations with a strong cheat game.

Take a look at the last few presidential electoral maps.

Our literacy rates are low, despite our excellent education, because we take in a lot of immigrants from other countries. And overall that’s a great thing .

California isn’t perfect. But I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. It’s the least imperfect place in the country.

We should prolly teach them to read and write before we allow them to vote. And maybe achieve citizenship.  Don't ya think?
