Well I've got some bad news for you....It is only going to get worse. And all these election deniers who are going to win this Tuesday are going to throw gasoline on a fire that is already starting to spread outside of anyone's control.
-
The Clinton side was more about the antiquated nature of the electoral college and voter suppression (which I think the latter is where Abrams has always argued too). I would say those are stupid to varying degrees in their own way. But Democrats mainly protested the events that happened during the campaign. Republicans are contending everything after the election. Trump's whole message was basically "No way I lost, they must have cheated." People buy into it for whatever reason. I think a reasonable person would agree trying to discount votes after they are legally cast is going too far.

The problem with that idea is this: Everyone wants state's rights and government out of everything so there is no national mandate as to how to count mail-in ballots or any of that stuff. So every state has their own process and because of it some vote totals come in later making people believe it is "illegitimate" when in reality it is how it was always done. It doesn't mean it is illegitimate though no matter how many times Trump or the other election deniers say it.

I played against Mixon in two leagues. That sucked.

Not sure if he is being truthful but Ron says he won't run against Trump
-
I mean- okay but that doesn't really answer the question. Plus- if Trump wins in 2024 whoever he names as his VP has the inside track on 2028 for the GOP. Do you think that is DeSantis? Does Trump tab someone else?
-
"Ron DeSanctimonious" Eh...not his best work. Honest question though: What do you think are Trump's true feelings towards Ron? I would venture a guess that while he probably agrees with Ron- he doesn't like that Ron gets as much as attention as Trump and is probably more beloved within the Republican party.

Says the guy on Twitter who is a a supporter of white supremacists and very clearly caused the Republicans to lose a bunch of House seats in 2018 with his stupid messaging.

I guess the Fetterman Oz debate didn't go so well.

I would venture no one in here complaining about Fetterman cared all that much. -

Yeah- I'm sure Dr. Oz is going to be working his way through the Commonwealth talking to everyone. You are wrong on this in just about every way. -

No I wouldn't. It's not as if the dude on the other side is more qualified either. Also- by the logic you just said...you'd be okay with Fetterman winning if they can replace him right away. -

No I wouldn't. I don't disagree that a different candidate would be better. I expect my senators to be able to vote on bills. I don't care if you have to stick a pen in their mouth to vote. Hell- Republicans voted a dead guy into office once and no one batted an eye or raised a fuss about it. -

72 hours for that reply? Wow! He votes on bills he reads. He can still speak with and listen to constituents. There is not a ton of debating in the senate anymore unless you count a bunch of people who want to hear themselves talk at times. He can discuss bills still So now you can say you learned more things, thanks. -
Twitter adopts 'poison pill' to prevent Elon Musk takeover

It's not really a a pulling of free speech other than in the very literal sense that you are paying to say certain things. It is creating "commodified speech" though. -

Biden says coal plants 'all across America' will be shut down, replaced with wind and solar
Sean Mooney replied to craftsman's topic in The Geek Club
Even still- it's a dumb thing to say. It would be dumber to try and enact. You are never going to be able to completely move away from coal and oil. But you can fold in the solar and wind stuff to give us more options for energy. Just looking to replace is a bad idea. -

People who don't know what the word "headline" means should sit this one out. -

So it isn't "leftist ideology" it's that you just want people to be able to say whatever. Okay- so we can move past the "leftists ideology" leading to banning now. Good -
Twitter adopts 'poison pill' to prevent Elon Musk takeover
Sean Mooney replied to Utilit99's topic in The Geek Club
I think it's complicated. I don't fully know the methodology of how they looked at things. I do know if you follow one set of ideas you will generally get more of those ideas funneled to you. I do think they probably found that righty posts were featured more however, I would love to see an outside source look at it. I do think though there is far more of an underbelly to the right on those social media sources than the left just because of how many of those open groups exist. However, again- I'd love to see a third party looking into it. -

See you are stuck on this part which isn't really the issue. That's what the right wants the issue to be because then they can cry "censorship." Make it anything else- if Babylon Bee used the "n word" is that okay to be suspended or is it "leftist ideology.?" That's the question you don't want to answer. The TOS outline what you can and can't say to use their service. People broke it. I agree on the part that the moderation might not be consistent but that isn't necessarily left vs right. -

Uh huh- I mean- that clearly seems like the posts by Baylon Bee at the very least broke the TOS on posting. Now some of that is in the eyes of the moderator but it seems clear. Let me ask you this: Is it exhausting to be involved in a culture war so in depth as you are? Also, what are you hoping to gain- is it just "I want to be able to make fun of transgender people"? Is it more than that? How has your life changed because Babylon Bee made a joke and Twitter termed it in violation of their posting policy? -

It was "leftist policies" or they broke the TOS? Was it an overly aggressive moderator? -
Did he nail this one? I will say this- I do think he is being a little alarmist....however it is a little troubling the amount of people on the upcoming ballot who are running with "election denier" as part of their advertisement package. I get the culture war stuff regardless of how silly I think it is but it is being used as cover for entrance by a lot of those candidates.
