I don't want to debate any of these issues (please). Thing is we all support fighting cancer. That's a common value. Now is this something that we all feel should be top-5 on our priorities in who we vote for president? Above immigration? Above rooting out the Deep State? Above eliminating our debt? Above fighting trans right & DEI policies?
That’s a completely legitimate and proper debate to have. The problem is that most Democrats can’t have reasonable debates today. They go right into hyper-emotional outbursts. They forget that both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama also tried to limit the indirect costs associated with medical research.

It was a human interest story. There are 4 or 5 of them in every State of the Union address. And prior to this year, the people featured in these spots were always applauded by both sides, as they should be. It’s meant to transcend politics.
That custom was abandoned by the Democrats last night. It made them look petty and small, and was pretty much universally condemned, even by some of the talking heads on MSNBC.
Of course you defend it - because, well, you’re a revolting excuse for a human being.
