I just told you the reality that I’ve witnessed firsthand with my own eyes in an HR boardroom at a fortune 50 company. I have seen at least three hiring decisions that were made or a black person was hired for a job - where they weren’t the best candidate - and where it was said out loud that the most important aspect of that particular hiring decision was to get a person of color in the role. That’s reality. And it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. That’s exactly what affirmative action and DEI have as intended consequences. Harvard knew feel well (and admitted as much during court proceedings) that they knew their affirmative action program for admissions was disadvantaging Asians. Don’t tell me that’s not reality. Just admit that these real world victims exist, but that it serves a bigger purpose in your mind.

Nobody “owns” international bodies of water. But the US pays for its protection, and it has more coastline on the Gulf than any other nation. There are no clear international laws saying that the US can’t change the way it refers to that body of water.

The Gulf of Mexico was originally named over 400 years ago, and it did not refer to the nation of Mexico. It was named after a native American city. If Mexico doesn’t like it they can refer to it as the Gulf of Mexico, along with any other nation. Mexico already refers to the Rio Grande river differently than we do. The issue here is that Trump issued a legal executive order to change the name within the United States, and the AP unilaterally decided that they would not follow that legal order.
