Pro tip for all you amateur Freuds: the DSM is a diagnostic tool. It's right there in the name: Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. It is not a treatment manual. Dissecting how something is listed and the reasoning for it doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot when it comes to treating dysphoria. Those involved in the treatment will have their own opinions, methodology, and experience which may or may not be informed by the DSM. Shockingly, I think some of youse guys are in waaaaay over your heads when discussing this topic.

I read (most of) the Shermer article. While it did point out a leftward lean in SA that could be interpreted as "anti-science" if one squints hard enough, he's referencing things that happened between 2018-2021, the "peak woke era." Against that backdrop, I don't find his article particularly compelling. I am not as scientifically minded or analytical as you, admittedly. But Shermer's article came off to me as little more than another right wing piece whining about how social justice has permeated everything. That's hardly a groundbreaking analysis and in retrospect he was at least partially correct. However, he clearly had an agenda when writing it. And that's fine, but let's not overreact and diminish everything SA publishes because one conservative with an axe to grind (seemingly mostly directed at his editor) decided to spin up his grinding wheel. You're doing that cuz you're a football junkie, right? Not just to get an edge in FF. In 2013, the guy on our league that cares the least about FF, watches the Vikes but pays zero attention to the rest of the league, bought a drafting app 5 minutes before drafting, and made exactly ONE transaction all year (to cover a bye) put together probably the best team in our league's history. Granted Payton Manning's insane season helped, but his team was STACKED and he won his ONLY title. It was at that point that I realized spending a bunch of time on FF was foolish.

Flanagan is not well liked, and Tafoya seems reasonable and non-MAGA (which I guess is implied, since reasonable and MAGA have nothing in common), plus has the name recognition for those that don't follow politics. Small rosters (15) .5PPR, 1QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1TD no kickers cuz fock em they're stupid QB: Williams RB: Cook, Henry, Judkins (my 3 keepers), R. White, Bigsby, J. Hill WR: McConkey, DJ Moore, Washington, Wilson, Godwin TE: Pitts, Sadiq TD: Vikings (homer pick I took too early but IDGAF) Snipes and results: Took Williams after Burrow, Herbert got sniped. Daniels was also gone, but I prefer Williams Took McConkey after JSN, Pickens sniped. McMillan also gone but prefer McConkey Took Pitts after Loveland and Warren sniped. Bowers was a keeper(!) Took Moore after D. Smith, Higgins, Egbuka, Adams, and Odunze sniped. At one point 8 of the 10 guys picked right before mine would have been my pick. Brutal. ETA: insult to injury, I had Egbuka, Loveland, and McMillan on my roster but couldn't keep them or find a trading partner.
