I can't watch stuff like that anymore. Can't remember if it was the original paranormal activity, or one of the sequels, but it scared the shite out of me and I've never watched anything like that again.

Sucks that I don't care for that stuff, because over the years the Travel Channel (which I have) seems to have pivoted to that type of programming 24/7

Got ya and don't blame you and the Paranormal caught on camera sh!t is real and freaks me out.

What was her ghost story? 👻

Call me crazy, but I can't help but take stories like that under consideration when thinking about whether there's an afterlife.  Otherwise D!ck Cavett and Rue McClanahan either had some wild hallucinations, or are flat out lying for no reason (other than for the show, but I don't think it's a "for entertainment only; not real stories" type of show). 🤔

She was dating some producer dude that ended up taking his own life and said she felt his presents around her weeks later. It was one of the more boring ones and she seemed really hung up on him. Watch Paranormal Caught on Camera if you want to see some real stuff that can't be explained. Some of them freak me out.

Scientists at La Trobe University published a study this week about a protein found in the flowers of ornamental tobacco plant that targets human cancer cells and destroys them. This raises the prospect of the deepest kind of irony: tobacco grown to produce drugs used to treat cancers caused by tobacco.

Mark Hulett, Marc Kvansakul and others from the Biochemistry Department used a range of techniques to examine the structure and function of a protein called NaD1. This protein is a type of defensin, a molecule that protects the plant from fungal infections. Why it also works on mammalian cancer cells is unknown, but is probably related to similarities of their cell membranes, where the action in this story takes place.

    PFT Requirements and Standards

The PFT is a fitness test consisting of 4 timed events. Selectees must complete the following events based on strict protocols:

    1. Sit ups: 32 sit-ups in 1 minute or less
    2. Push Ups: 22 push-ups in 1 minute or less
    3. Sprint: 220-yard sprint in 47.73 seconds or less
    4. Run: 1.5-mile run in 14 minutes 25 seconds or less

Selectees must meet or exceed each event's minimum standards.

These events assess muscular strength and endurance, anaerobic and aerobic power and cardiovascular endurance. Events must be performed correctly and in sequence with no more than five minutes between exercises.

1 and 2 with ease and probably the other two.
