He bought NVDA, I mean had his spouse buy NVDA, right before the CHIPS act passed? Or had his spouse sell V right before a DOJ lawsuit was filed? What legislation (insider trading) are you tying this to since your link doesn't do any of that? Did these investments outperform the broader stock market by 50 to 100%? If you're smart you'd look for something atypical like that, not just a run of the mill ethics report turned out by the government he is in charge of. In other words, not remotely the same thing.
As for if politicians should be allowed to own stocks - I definitely want the leader of the free world invested in the same things I am. And I think it would be a good law to make all congressmen invest a minimum of 50% of their investments in a S&P index fund. Let them all have skin in the game like the rest of us.
