  1. It's supposed to hit as a Category 3, which is what Katrina was, so it's not exactly a poosay. Sustained winds are at 120 mph, just shy of Katrina strength, but it has some room to strengthen. The fockers arrive in bands, with each getting stronger and more alarming. And then the eye wall hits and all hell breaks loose. It doesn't last long, but it's pretty hairy and defies a description. Category 3 hurricanes generally are not powerful enough to blow off a roof, but falling trees are the real danger unless you're super close to the beach, and then storm surge is the destroyer.
  2. The world became a better place when he died.
  3. Maybe Trump will monetize this and give every American eleventy billion dollars after he takes his cut.
  4. At his Texas rally, Trump noted how packed the place was, that there was a 2-mile-long line waiting to get in and a jumbotron outside for people who couldn't get into the rally to see it. He told people to not get up and use the rest room because the "fake news" would zero in on the empty seats. Then the camera pans out to show lots of empty seats in the upper sections. Yet MAGAs seeing that still will believe the place was packed. Unbelievable. https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-praises-attendance-texas-rally-what-videos-show-12539456 Even if I were a loyal Trump supporter, I would neither expect the place to be packed nor would I want to attend, because I wouldn't want to see one of his long, rambling speeches full of bragging, reckless comments and misinformation.
  5. The Susan Dell hilarity reminds me of an old story in The Onion under the headline "Kurt Warner cheered on by wire-haired man-goblin."
  6. My son today asked me where it all began, and I said Rush Limbaugh.
  7. Unintentional hilarity courtesy of Susan and Michael Dell photo opp with Trump. https://www.reddit.com/r/popculture/comments/1pg9vv8/what_happened_to_susan_dells_face_experts_share/ Every thing Trump touches turns to .

  9. Talarico is up six points in Texas. Hopefully Trump will keep campaigning for Paxton here to ensure Talarico's victory is even greater come November. Everything Trump touches turns to chit.
  10. And so began the downfall of unbiased, facts-based journalism.
  11. Reminds of the classic Yogi Berra quip about a restaurant being so crowded that no one wants to go there. Blue states are so crowded that no one wants to live there. Blue cities are so crowded that no one wants to live there. Never mind that California and New York rank first and fourth, respectively, in most-populated states, and Texas at No. 2 rapidly is going blue and has four of the Top 10 most populated U.S. cities, and they're all solidly blue, with the exception of Fort Worth being blue leaning. All the Top 10 cities in this country are blue. But the Trump base gets all giddy when he makes a statement like that. Pure delusion. New York City and Chicago are great places to visit. I haven't spent much time in Los Angeles or been to San Diego, but I've heard the latter is pretty great. At day's end it's all about hate, intolerance, hypercatastrophizing and fearmongering.
  12. The only thing I've credited to Trump is the reduction in illegal crossings, and a simple search today of the causes revealed that Biden policy and Mexico cracking down initiated it all. This is a simple search, but MAGAs will deny the facts, despite numerous credible sources reporting those facts. Their denial underscores a dangerous lack of common sense among the dwindling Trump supporters.
  13. Credit Biden and Mexico for reducing illegal border crossings. https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/blog/why-are-border-crossings-lowest-level-in-four-years/ Trump expanded the program, but let's give some credit where credit is due.
  14. The border hasn't been "open." That's just MAGA hypercatastrophizing. The Supreme Court already is stacked, and if there is an opening, Trump gets to pick the replacement. Filibuster? Lol. I predict Trump will be impeached again and this time possibly convicted and thrown out of office. The laundry list of crimes he has committed is long and filthy. But this is what you get when you elect a convicted felon. Weeeee!!! How will the House and Senate do all this hiring inside Trump's administration? Trump would have to approve raising taxes, right? What you’re missing is an understanding on how the federal government works. But you have gulped down a big bucket of MAGA fearmongering. It's going to be OK, man. Big beautiful gridlock is on the way.
  15. And desperation sets in ...
  16. They just moved over to Frontier.
  17. Now Trump is saying again that the war is close to ending. The next step in the cycle is threatening to wipe Iran from the face of the Earth, followed by reports that Iran is ready to make a deal, and then bombing resumes.
  18. When will MAGA say enough is enough? This clown is the worst U.S. president.
  19. The current trend came after the previous trend, which preceded its predecessor trend. So here we are, oh so much closer to peace in Ukraine.
  20. They need to be secured against him.
  21. Ah, I see. I hadn't seen it before until it popped up here a couple of days ago. When I saw it agai I figured this was the new flavor-of-the-moment MAGA phrase.
  22. I guess "virtue signaling" is the new MAGA buzz phrase. I wonder what right-wing infotainment resource inserted that into the echo chamber.
