    L White will drop

When Pete Carroll was on Sirius NFL Radio last week, he was asked about LenDale White's speed. Carroll indicated that White had never run for the Trojans in terms of timing him, and now all of a sudden White comes down with a bad case of sore-hamstring-itis. Give me a break. This "injury" is simply a ploy to mask his slow-as-molasses footwork, and it will cost him mucho dollars come draft time. Someone else said it best: LenDale White < TJ Duckett.

    "the world according to rod"

That'd be tough considering they're in the same conference.

    "the world according to rod"

Let's see, Tampa built their Super Bowl team through the draft by selecting solid defensive players (Sapp, Lynch, Brooks) and supplementing them with a nice FA pick-up (Rice), not through rhetoric from their coach. Seattle has won because they have a Hall of Fame-caliber RB who's used properly within the scheme of the offense, a steady -- if not solid -- QB, and a bunch of young, productive players on defense, not through rhetoric from their coach. Lastly, Atlanta's winning predates Mora's arrival, but they've turned it around currently with a winning -- albeit not very productive stat-wise -- QB, a stud CB, and an All-Pro TE, not through rhetoric from their coach. Marinelli's only been on the job two months; let's not annoint this guy anything more than what he is: a coach with good credentials who talks a good game and who's highly thought of around the league. hmmm, sounds alot like what was said about 2 other coaches who graced the Lions' sidelines (Mooch, Ross)

    "the world according to rod"

Damn, are you all that gullible that you buy into this hype machine the Lions seem to give us with each new front office/coach hire? Come on, fellas; you all are smarter than that. As life-long Lion fans, we should all know this team hasn't gotten it right in 50 YEARS. FIFTY YEARS!!!!! So it doesn't matter who they bring in; this organization is poorly run and the results on the field for most of the last five decades bares witness to that. The Lions' PR machine must've spiked the kool-aid on this one.

    "the world according to rod"

It doesn't matter how smart or talented a player or coach is; once they arrive in Detroit they eventually add to the continuity of losing. This organization has made grown men cry (Bobby Ross), quit (Barry Sanders), question their ability (Robert Porcher), question their sanity (Marriucci), and feel underappreciated by the team (Herman Moore). It doesn't matter what pedigree these new coaches bring with them; this is a loser organization from top to bottom, and no amount of discipline from the coaching staff will change that.

    Darko

You all don't get it. Darko stunk when the Pistons drafted him and he stinks now. Considering who was drafted around him (LeBron, Carmello, D. Wade, Chis Bosh), Darko would have to morph into a Dirk Nowitzki-type to justify his draft position. Joe Dumars simply tried to get cute when he picked Darko, and it blew up in his face. Carmello would look great in Piston red-white-and-blue.

    Safe first rounders..............

Every year people have doom and gloom outlooks for certain positions and every year someone steps up and performs well beyond their expectations. At some point during the preseason, or even into the early part of the season, several players will begin separating themselves from the pack and all of us FF players will for not choosing said player in the 1st or 2nd round (Palmer, L. Jordan, LJ, S. Smith, Fitz, etc.).

Packers: We want Favre's decision by Saturday

I'm not so sure that's true. Even if it is, that still doesn't justify the media's facination with this guy. How does that make him so special? That can be said for half the starting QBs in the league. What's overrated is the notion that this guy can do no wrong. Throws 6 ints in a playoff game at St. Louis? Well, he's simply trying to overcompensate for the lack of talent around him. Throw an idiotic underhand pass over the line of scrimmage that turned into an interception in the red zone during a playoff game? Oh, that's just Brett having a good time and never giving up on a play. Throw a hail mary moon ball up for grabs in Philly in yet another playoff game that turned into a game-clinching interception? Well, that's just Brett being his "gunslinger" self. I'm not saying the guy stinks; I'm simply saying it's gotten to the point that everyone seems to be afraid to say something bad about the guy. And who cares about stats. John Elway's numbers don't come close to matching Favre's, but I'll take Elway in a heartbeat over Brett.

Packers: We want Favre's decision by Saturday

Perhaps the most overhyped, overexposed, and quite frankly overrated star of all time. So long, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way to Mississippi.

Chiefs VS. Broncos this Thanksgiving nite!

Lamar Hunt's been belly-aching so much about rotating the Thanksgiving Day games that perhaps the league extended this opportunity to pacify him and shut his piehole.

Redskins to Host Vikings In MNF Opener

I'm not sure what the league sees that's so captivating about this matchup, especially for a prime time game on kick-off weekend.

Chiefs may offer Lions pick for Harrington

There may be a Congressional hearing if Matt Millen can steal a 3rd round pick from KC for Harrington....then again, if Philly can get a 2nd round pick from Miami for AJ Feeley, then anything's possible I suppose. That would be a nice coup nevertheless....just another mid-round pick for Millen to pick another stiff.
  14. It really doesn't matter if child-like immaturity, petty jealousy, or coaching favoritism pervades the Lions locker room; the bottom line is they lack the necessary number of talented football players to win games, plain and simple. Enough with the psychoanalyzing; this team and orgranization stink and it will be perhaps another generation before they consistently turn this laughable franchise around.

    Brooks in as Raiders' QB

I may be in the minority, but I don't think Brooks is that bad a QB. Sure he had a bad year last year, but what Saint didn't? Before last season, you could count on him for 24 - 26 TDs, perhaps 15 ints, and a handful of bonehead decisions. Those characteristics describe 75% of the starting QBs in the league. He should once again become a serviceable QB in Oaktown.

    Vince Young Pro Day

History tells us that when 2 QBs are picked high in the draft, one succeeds or they both suck; i.e., Manning/Leaf, Bledsoe/Mirer, Carr/Harrington....should be interesting to look back 5 years from now and see who pans out: Young or Leinart. this is my first post since the site came back on-line :doublebanana:

What do you need from FMV tonight

Um, 260 total yards and 2 TDs is not too shabby.
  18. I once had a strained plantar fascia, and that sh!t HURT. I could hardly walk, let alone run up and down a football field. This certainly won't help a defense that's been struggling a bit this year.
