KC better win in the next couple years...

Colts are going to beat them in their window IMO. Indy is a well built roster.......just wait until they add the cherries and whip cream, which they can afford
  2. He is one the guys that came to mind for me too
  3. He truly was widely considered a bust................... as in it had already been determined. I picked him up off the WW in a 26 roster slot dynasty league (pretty deep) the summer after his rookie year because my only 2 QBs were redraft WW types. I felt silly doing it because there were better options at other positions but the roster was QB challenged long term, so I took the flier. He was basically worthless even in dynasty leagues even though some of the owners who drafted him as rookie held because they had invested a pick. Nice turnaround..............makes you wonder about some of the past young QB phenoms, how different things might have been.

    Antonio Brown requests trade

One of many rumors.......... the Bills may be willing to give up their 2nd in the upcoming draft (2.08) + one of their 4th round picks (10 total picks this year), PLUS their 2020 1st round pick And books have them as the 3rd likeliest landing spot Chris Trapasso ‏ @ChrisTrapassoFollowFollow @ChrisTrapasso More .@BetDSI's odds for Antonio Brown's next team: - 49ers: +200 - Jets: +300 - Bills: +450 - Cardinals: +500 - Colts: +600 7:21 AM - 15 Jan 2019

    Josh Rosen

The Cardinals are as ripe a team for a trade down from #1 as any I can recall because they need help everywhere but none greater than OL. Rosen needs time in the pocket and DJ needs blockers. Trade down and take 5 OL in the 1st three rounds and hope you hit on a few..............forget about best available crap when you need OL to keep the best players on the team from being completely erased. As an aside I'm not sure anyone can evaluate Rosen as a rookie QB with that OL. (I'm not saying he will be any good, just how can you possibly tell?) What would DJs excuse be.............. lost his juice from one year to the next?

    Antonio Brown requests trade

Agreed, cut with no compensation is the most likely in part because we know he will say he is retiring unless its a destination he wants to go. Antonio should bring alot of value though which is part of the equation when considering Ben. Browns contract, less the $$$ pulled forward by the Steelers, would be considered very cheap and potentially worthy of multiple 1st round picks IMO.

    Antonio Brown requests trade

These are the kinds of trades that won't work due to the AB contract situation. Brown no longer on the Steelers in any way means a bunch of $$$$ come due in the current year which were previously spread out as signing bonus/restructure ($$$$$ do not move along with the contract in that case). OBJ '19 salary even if Ben cut would not fit the Steelers without a ridiculous amount of financial gymnastics (a bunch of other player contract restructures) because Brown leaving hits the '19 cap. Only way forward if Brown is leaving is a bunch young/cheap players/rooks and or future assets unaccounted for in the cap like '20 picks. A butt-load (technical term) of cap room would be available in '20 if Ben is gone and AB's $$$$ have rolled off. Sometimes you have to go backwards in order to move forward, at least if you have painted yourself in a corner. How is YOUR favorite teams GM setting your team up for future success or failure?

    Antonio Brown requests trade

I would agree that A. Browns contract makes a trade unlikely, but with the caveat that it is more possible for this type of deal to get done than it ever was in the past. A rebuild mindset would be required on the part of the Steelers but I don't see it as a stretch because they couldn't get it done this year with Ben and Antonio anyway and each is a year older in '19. Trade Antonio for picks, cut or trade Ben for picks, and it looks like the accelleration of Browns contract $$$ is workable with Ben's contract no longer in the picture. To me, as long as they can stomach a young starter at QB next year.........then they would have the cap room back in '20 along with a still young core.............Shuster/Conner/Young D+ the pick talent acquired in trade/s In any case to my eyes its very doable without Ben.........and it doesn't seem like he is really "all-that" anymore https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/pittsburgh-steelers/

    John Kelly

My guess is he may not yet be trusted in pass pro, but it is purely a guess, I haven't seen him play If so they don't want to risk the franchise/season to pick up a couple of Y.P.C. A trade off many coaches make.......

    Best Backup RB Flyers...

The game within the game................... in a couple of leagues plenty of reasons for me to drop some marginal RBs for higher upside stashes considering I'm fully covered but always have to examine all of the consequences

    ROS QB Pick one

Winston by alot for me in FF Detroit offense trending toward higher run percentage and efficiency, lower play volume = Stafford arrow down

    Corey Davis- ugh

I'm not saying you shouldn't, but I would not. I prefer guys who should get a high number of targets (C.D. does unless he has an elite CB shadowing) as opposed to those who get fewer deeper targets. Its a matter of style and maybe how the rest of your lineup is built. Fuller seems to be fading when Coutee is on the field (he won't be this week though) and Smith's share of the NO pie is unclear.............but it certainly wouldn't shock me if either of those guys caught fire and outperformed CD, it's just not my kind of bet.
  13. lesjroza

    Corey Davis- ugh

No guarantee it turns out the same but waiting for him reminds me a little bit of young Dez..............always over - rated relative to production early in his career and he would take 2 steps forward and a step and half back..............seem to break out and then disappear. CD had Hayward on him this week so he wasn't ever gonna be the correct read most of the game despite seeing some "experts" recommending him as a top start for the week, but he also dropped the opportunities he had.............tough waiting for sure.
  14. When Arians had a good OLine he got QBs beat up with his system The Cards have one of the worst Olines in the NFL I would not expect anybody to be more involved in a vertical passing game , if anything they probably have to go more max protect and get the ball out quicker........it would help the team in its current circumstance and give Rosen a chance to develop if DJ would spend more time pass blocking........I know nobody here wants to hear that though

    Cardinals OC relieved of duties

Can he clone himself a few times, and block? Because that is the single most important missing ingredient...............

Thoughts on Alshon Jeffery's Dynasty value?

I personally think its close. I think number of roster slots comes into play, how many are there? Are there any cut downs prior to the draft? The number of roster slots can inform the value of both the picks and Westbrook IMO. If you are a top contender that leans to making the trade IMO, but your ability to maximize the rook picks with the knowledge I know you have leans toward not making the trade. Other random-ish thoughts that may or may not apply: Fitz may/should go out with a bang, but I strongly suspect this is either last year or he is back as more of a player/coach if they draft a top wideout. His home here in Az went up for sale a few weeks ago (5 mil, he has been there awhile and is a part of the Az celeb scene), unless there are specific plans to build a new house or something it may be a tell. While the team would want Larry to have an upbeat ending getting playing time for the young guys is really important too, so no gaurantee he is ever a great start again if I am right about next year. Westbrook is a talent but on that offense, with that QB.......... he is a tough sell as an every week starter. I know little to nothing about next years draft class at this point, but that doesn't mean I don't value the picks. If you buy Alshon you live with the knowledge his injury history portends he may not be available every week.

    Rex Burkhead headed to IR

Clueless is little strong IMO. I would say improbable at this point based more on the Cap constraint but as we make our way further into the year are you sure Pit is a contender? Are the Pats? Pit currently sitting in last place in their division, Pats sitting at 1-2. So if looking through the lens of schedule or contending as stumbling block........ entirely plausible there is a chance those are not obstacles come week 10 one way or another. If the Steelers would just be happy to rid themselves of Bell at a certain contract cost how can anyone be certain they wouldn't actually be happy to see a rival ink him longer term at said cost? Could be clueless or just thinking differently, but to think there is no chance is more biased IMO.

Good point, add it to the list as another potential stumbling block.

    Rex Burkhead headed to IR

White assured of a bump up in my estimation, could be small or could be large depending on Sony. Sony looks really rusty and like a rookie........ as he should so far having had very few reps but...........potential blow up spot now if he can take advantage. Puts NE in the conversation for Bell too as the holdout drags on IMO. LOTS would have to line up for that to happen so still really unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility at some point down the road. Bell would have to be willing to accept a contract he was unwilling to accept in Pit IMHO but his perspective on his value may have changed and the opportunity to play in NE could give him the graceful way out of the mistake that Dez never got. Bell still has 11-12 mil in salary due I believe but it ticks down around 900k each week, NE presently with 4+ mill in cap space so its not happening any time soon, but something to keep in mind pending how NE season/backfield trends going forward. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space

    Sony Michel

Exactly............he did what you wanted to see in order to continue to hold him on a redraft roster slot. I watched the game while sorting through stock charts, but I thought he looked solid if unspectacular vs Jax. Flashes of physical talent were there, so were some tentative moments. He did not fumble or show any ball insecurity which is a huge positive but it was disappointing he did not run through full-speed on a wheel - type route the way he was expected to early in his game sequence. I was particularly disappointed in that fail because I believe the area he holds promise for surprising everybody to the upside is his passing game usage in the future...........I saw elite traits in college and while everybody assumes its James White from here to eternity in passing situations I give him an outside shot to shock the world there at some point. To be clear not likely this year, but you never know......... If he had been successful on that first target it would have been interesting to see if he had gotten even more run overall.

I always chuckle when I see post Week 1 panic.

Sure, but what one man calls panic can be what another man calls a prudent exit. If there is a fire in a movie theatre and everybody heads for the exit, some people are gonna get trampled but the first few out are gonna come out of it relatively unscathed. There are definitely some situations that aren't going to be as we thought to be ascertained in Week 1 and if you are watching the play on the field its possible to change your mind correctly with new information. The point is right now its possible to sell at only a slight discount to the original investment and very possible in the same deal you may be able to get a player in return you wanted but missed out on, after seeing it play out as well or better than you thought it would. If you wait until several weeks into the season you won't get the same opportunity from the "buy lowers". Anyway, since you're all about buying the discount please get specific. Who are you buying right now as others panic out after poor week 1 production?

    Sony Michel

This is the part I think some of the guys here are having a hard time getting and it might be more about timing. If one drafted early in the off-season Michel was going to cost a 1.02-1.04 rookie pick, and I said earlier in this thread I wasn't high on him at that price for may of the reasons others in here have mentioned. But as one poster said he was just able to get Michel at 3% of the cap in his contract league. That's like late 2nd-early 3rd round rookie pick territory. I myself, was able to get him at a very attractive price in my auction format which happened late. The redraft ADP at a place like FF-calculator and even MFL reflects a far higher ADP than you have to pay right now in a draft because of the process for that calculation. Michel is being drafted in end of the bench stash value in most redrafts at this point unless you have somebody in your league who is following early season ADP (or on auto-draft) with no idea of what has happened this summer and in dynasty auction formats he is going for a mid- 2nd round pick value. At his early off-season cost most of the upside-ceiling was priced in but as of right now, most of the downside arguments like committee role and little early season work are actually already priced in and its the ceiling that is not.

    Jerick McKinnon injury

Not sure how one would determine how reliable Sparq rankings are, they are what they are, which is a measure of athleticism at the point the testing is done, not a list of the order to draft footballl players. The most athletic player is not necessarily going to be the best football player which should be fairly clear to anybody who thinks about it. Like my Chicago Park District football coach used to tell us when I was 10...........fast is good, strong is good, fast and strong going in the wrong direction takes you further away from where you should be..............and some version of that is always applicable. The most athletic person in the world may not be a good football player, but in fantasy football its been my experience that as a general statement the players who play football well that are also the most athletic have a better chance of scoring points for my team.

    Jerick McKinnon injury

Yes Sir! Engine room, more steam! https://3sigmaathlete.com/archive/2017s/rb/ Top RB in Sparq rank of the 2017 class ahead of Aaron Jones who was the 3rd most athletic and Alvin Kamara who was the 4th. Also, I don't want to refute anything that someone else here said and not show evidence but I personally sincerely doubt Breida is at 190 lbs now a full year into professional training having come from a small school where he was 195 at the time of testing that produced this score. I understand where people got that weight as he is listed at NFL.com and other places at that number but I'm skeptical it isn't higher now
