the eagles thought very highly of him since he first showed up for minicamps and they really didnt want to part with him but they had so much talent ahead of him they could afford to let him go. i think against new orleans they were forced to throw a ton so i dont expect him to do anything amazing the rest of the year but he'll be a nice complement to donnie avery and could make a nice tandem in the future.

desean wasnt targeted at all and it looked like TB was double-teaming him. maclin came in late to camp and was supposed to be behind curtis anyway but with curtis being hurt i think they used this game to experiment with maclin and see how much he could handle. they knew they were going to blow Tampa out anyway and oakland is next week's opponent so what better time to make sure the entire offense is clicking. i think avant was targeted more than desean yesterday. i wouldnt read anything into it except the fact that maclin could end up being a nice #3/#4 wr on your fantasy team as the season goes on. he looked faster and more in tune with the offense that at any time previous this year. both guys are wicked fast and philly is gonna keep throwing til the end so plenty of balls to go around.
