  3. Guys...great analysis. I've never been any good at drafting late cause I've always gone RB/RB. But the one time I went WR/WR, it bit me in the a$$ too.

So I'm gonna throw out a scenario and question. Please give me some feedback.

    Scenario:

Assume you are drafting late in round 1. Based on the above it seems you take QB1 and WR1/2 if they are available. The problem is that the other owners all have 2 RBs by the time you draft in the 3rd round. At best you get RB 23/24. It seems to me that at this stage everyone has overpicked RBs and there is no value in drafting either of those two players.

    Question:

Am I correct in thinking you should pass on RB23/24 and wait until Round 5 and 6 for RB 29/30? So in Round 3/4 you'd take the best TE available and the best WR available?

Looking at the ADP, this is what's left at RB23 on. I actually think some of these guys after 28 have some upside (CMart, Fragile Freddie, Benson, Addai, Green). They also have age and injury concerns. but I guess if you drafted another in round 7, you'd be able to juggle it and have a good starting lineup thoughout the year.

Just a few other notes of interest about draftng in this manner.

You can bet that if you choose to go WR or QB in both of the first two rounds that in rounds 3, 4 and 5 you will have fewer managers looking at RBs. This means that you can take some risks with round three if you choose and feel fairly safe in the fact that some value will fall to the fourth at RB as owners with two RBs already will be drafting WRs for the most part.

At the end of the draft order, if you have one of the last three spots, but not last and you know the owners after you will be going after positions other than RB cause they already have two allows you a lot of flexibility to wait on RBs, I actually like being in this drafting position.

Don't get me wrong, if the right value at RB is there round 1 or 2 get it, but don't be afraid to step away from the RB run and go elsewhere, and know that when the run on WRs starts the RBs that are there are yours for the choosing.

i cant re-do the VBD for the RBs under PPR, since megla didnt put receptions in his stats. of course the QBs would be worth the same.

    They can be found here

  5. but the demand is what makes VBD, because theres a demand for 12 QB starters, 24 RBs, 36 WRs, and 12 TEs. and the whole point of VBD is to show exactly what the good measure IS between positions.

my point, or at least what all my above data seems to point to, is that -- outside of the top 5 RBs or so, who still rule the day in fantasy football -- those stud QBs, WRs, and TEs are worth way more than anyone realizes. but people are stuck on taking two RBs to start, so they are taking the 18th best RB in the second round when they could get the #1 TE or the #5 WR, both of whom are top 15 values historically while the 18th best RB is more like top 50. i thought it was astonishing.

I was refering more to the demand for a particular position more than the required starting lineups. I agree that most people don't realize the value of the Top tier WRs and or TEs and those that see that value and draft them where they feel VBD lists say they should are often the teams that fair well.

    Top 30 QBs

    Top 40 WRs

I like to create my preseason ranking based soley on feel, then apply the stats that follow to that ranking as a starting point.

You will notice that the #1 QB is just that, the #1 QB and no name is assigned to that slot, I leave that to yo and your rankings.

want me to just email it to you??

  9. i can do a quick AutoSort cut-and-paste from pro-football-reference's data file i think...

    put QB2003, QB2004, QB2005, RB2003, etc... on separate tabs...

is that a good format for you?

    Sounds great :ninja:

I never denied anything, to a point I made it well know that yea I was calling you a blowhard.

What is hypocritical about calling a spade a spade.

You're a puppet who's string are easily pulled and they should be, everybody else can't be wrong in regards to you and your posting style.

  13. Typical, really - mods never own up to holding themselves to the higher standards they hold others to.

In this case, it's an ex-mod, but it is typical nonetheless.

The sad part is that I have no interest in perpetuating anything, but I am a big believer in fair treatment. If I am treated fairly I have no reason to even respond to any of it. In this case I am being blamed for Megla's childish personal attacks.

    That's simply not acceptible.

Thus, in this case you can thank Meglamaniac for the disaster this topic has become. I am talking FFB philsophy and Megla is being an insulting distraction. If I had my way, I wouldn't get insulted and this topic would be alllll about football.

And the beat goes on and the beat goes on.

    Pooper, " show me"

    Multiple posters-" here and here"

Pooper-, "that doesn't count because of this or that"

    Megla-

Pooper- it's not fair and it's Megla's fault :bench: :argue:

  14. I see just the oposite, if as we get close to preseason DM is proven healthy he is the back in NO and Bush will be used as a change of pace, two back option and he will be lined up in the slot.

    Lets not forget

    1. DM past production

    2. Blocking is more important a role fo a RB than realized.

  15. Man up, Sally.

Follow the forum rules and stop with the personal attacks and we'll get along fine.

"Blowhard" & "Clown" - there's two now. Careful...people have been suspended for less. And with Fumbles right here to witness it....if he's fair, you'll get warned/edited.

It's just your nature isn't it, you do it and don't even know you do it all the while crying to fumble, "he is calling me names"

    Rock on Scoot

  16. And in true Megla format, you are in denial of the fact that the only one starting sh!t and calling anyone names in here is YOU.

YOU called me a blowhard, which makes YOU a hypocrite. Scan through the topic real quick, and take a look at who called who a name. "Blowhard" is indeed an insult and a personal attack, and a former mod should know that it isn't allowed by the rules of this forum. Good thing you aren't a mod any more because you sucked at it, in this exact way, consistently.

Without that, why are you even here? Not like you ever have any football related opinions...just the geeky hall monitor. Maybe I am abbrasive, but at least I'm at the right website.

And FYI, I merely asked you a question - if it would be ok with you if I retorted and called you a name back. But being the hypocrite you are, you try to turn it around...nice going.

Your apology will be considered whenever you decide to grow a sack & man up. ;)

You are one funny clown, please keep performing
