Garcon or Gordon, rest of the way?

Okay, but why do you think he's so much farther ahead of Gordon?

How much does Cutler being out affect Forte?

Yeah, the stacked boxes are what concern me, and if they do get down big in games they move away from the swing passes and start going downfield a bit more. Cutler had a decent blend of short, medium and longer throws and that helped Forte. Not sure if McCown can do the same. McCown has liked to try and throw downfield, but I don't ever remember the results being too great. The schedule the next month isn't horrible with @GB, home vs Lions and Ravens, @ Rams and Vikings. Packers and Lions will score some points and might force the passing game, but Ravens, Rams and Vikings shouldn't.
  3. Now that we've had a few games to analyze teams and players I'm curous to know what everyone's thoughts are on Matt Stafford and RG3. How do you think their values compare, and which would you rather have the rest of the way? Stafford seems like the obvous answer based on scheme, but I'm not so sure. RG3's schedule seems to be a bit better. Thoughts?

Julius Thomas value when Dreesen comes back

Lol, I knew if I checked back on this thread there'd be some posts for me to eat my words. Since I own him I'm more than happy to do that, and obviously I was underestimating the machine that is the Denver offense. I was right 2 weeks ago, when he had 4 for 40 like I was suggesting, but last week he blew up again. It sure looks like that against teams that try to take away the outside guys he's going to be a monster.

Julius Thomas value when Dreesen comes back

I hope you're right, and maybe it will be somewhere in the middle, but his current pace is very likely to be unsustainable and there are a lot of mouths to feed in that offense. I'll take 900 and 10 all day.

    Flynn throwing in OAK

I don't think it hurts DMac too much. I would probably play Moore over those two this week.

Julius Thomas value when Dreesen comes back

I think the typical stat line for Thomas is 4-5 catches a game for about 40-50 yards and hopefully a td. He will have a couple much bigger games than that (already had one), but on the days where he doesn't score he's not much different than many other guys at the position. The fact that he has scored in every game bodes well for future red zone looks, but is also an unrealistic pace. And I say this as a Thomas owner. The bottom line is if he gives us 700 yards and 8 TD's I think we should all be pretty happy with that. If he does better than that it's just gravy.

    Flynn throwing in OAK

I like Streater a bit more if Flynn is in. He's not going to buy the time that Pryor does for the longer routes. Can you really feel good about it though? When you can't beat out T. Pryor for a job that says alot to me.

Julius Thomas value when Dreesen comes back

Thomas has certainly proven himself as a valuable weapon this season, and he will definitely still see alot of snaps, but this question is valid because of the loss of Clady at tackle. If Chris Clark can't hold up on the left side by himself they are going to have to bring a tight end over to help. Dreesen is a much better blocker than Thomas, so against teams with a strong pass rush, or when the Broncos want to run the ball, you might see a dip in Thomas's stats and playing time. Still, he's such a tough matchup for defenses I think they will try and use more two te sets to keep him out there as much as they can. That means taking Decker or Welker off the field though, so what do you do? It must be nice to have that much talent on offense (says the beat-down Chargers fan).

    What do you need Monday?

Down 6 with Julius Thomas to go. Will probably be sweating it out the whole night.
  11. 10 team, .5 ppr, 6 point all td's Start 2 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 WR/TE, 1 TE 1 K 1 Def Here's the offer: I get: Cam Newton Matt Forte Anquan Boldin I give: Matt Stafford Eddie Lacy Vincent Jackson I have Cam and Stafford ranked about the same, but one throws a ton and has a bad line and the other doesn't throw nearly as much but runs quite a bit. I upgrade with Forte, but take a pretty big hit at WR by losing Jackson, who is my number 1. What do you all think? Here's the rest of my team: Stafford E. Manning Vick Doug Martin Reggie Bush Eddie Lacy Bradshaw Andre Brown (Inj) Jackson Bowe Josh Gordon (Susp) E. Sanders G. Tate Fred Davis Housler Seahawks D

    Who to Start

I'd go Cook. I think the upside is quite a bit higher. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=422506

    Rate my Team

Yeah, that's pretty solid. I might try to trade a wr and backup rb for a better rb though.

Thompkins for Seattle D trade offer

I would definitely do this deal. Seahawks is a top def and Tompkins is 3rd option on that team when Gronk is there, not to mention that he is probably the 4th option for you at WR.

    Pick 2 : 1 WR and 1 Flex

Ivory and Moore would be my choices I think. I could see Austin as well, but Saints will be throwing to keep up with Falcons.
  16. cotarice12

What to do with this new offer I just got....

I would also do this deal. You need the rb upgrade.
  17. cotarice12

    Who do I FLEX?!?!

I like Ivory then Givens then Sudfeld. Ivory should get the most touches, and without having seen anyone play yet i will always go with quantity.

    E Manning or Cam

I like Eli a little better this week, but both should put up similar numbers.

    Waiver wire rules

My main league has done it like this for the past 3 years (it can work for CBS and MFL leagues, probably not free sites): Sunday - Wed. night = Blind Bidding auction (players dropped during this period are eligible to be picked up the rest of the week). Wed. night - Friday night = Blind Bidding auction (players dropped during this period not eligible for pick-up until the following week). Fri. night - Sunday at noon = First-come first-served free agency. All players cost $1 of FAAB. This system requires a bit more work on the commish's part (you have to change the periods and waivers type each week). We also do ebay-style bidding, so the winning bid pays $1 over the next highest bid for that player, but overall the system works out really well. It's taken awhile to get here, but it has greatly reduced the complaining/unfairness issues we had in the past.

    Is this fair?

Okay, I will agree with this if rosters are really yours until the 25th, as the op stated. I guess for me then, it isn't really a 2 keeper league in the most strict sense. I could trade half my team for draft picks before declaring, thus getting value for way more than just two players. This plays more like a dynasty league than true keeper in this rules format. To each his own, but it sounds like this needs to get clarified for future seasons.

    Is this fair?

If you keep only 2 players each, and yours are Martin and McCoy, I'm not sure how you even have Rodgers to trade. Your roster at this point in the year should only consist of the 2 keepers. All other players are free agents/draftable. You would have to declare Rodgers as one of your keepers and then trade him to do the deal. You can't trade assets that are no longer yours. I don't see any way this should be allowed to occur besides you declaring Rodgers as one of your keepers.

    Jacob Tamme

I am also deciding between Tamme and Bennett. Both great matchups, both could get more looks with WR's possibly out or limited (Stokley for Den. Nicks for Giants). Wish I had more news on Nicks before tonight's decision.
  23. cotarice12

Who else is screwed b/c of TNF starters?

Yeah, that's the stat line I fear most, and I can realistically see it happening (but will still be super pissed if it does). I have Tamme as well, and am between him and Martellus Bennett. Guess I better decide that one soon.
  24. I know it's sacrilege to suggest it, but with Houston this week and San Fran next week, is it worth considering benching Brady if you have other options? I don't know if I can bring myself to do it, but I figured it was at least worth a conversation. Edelman is done for the year, Gronk is out for the fantasy playoffs, and the offense didn't do much in the 2nd half against the Dolphins last week. Welker and Hernandez appear to be all that he has left as legitimate weapons, and those two defenses should be able to gameplan to take away the middle of the field, which is where both of those guys operate. I know they resigned Stallworth but that doesn't mean much I don't think. Lloyd has been doing nothing for awhile now. Brady is a guy you count on for a minimum of 280 and 2, with the hope for a monster game nearly every week, but if you have another option should you consider it, or am I over analyzing the situation? I know in my league he scored 13 last week, and I can't afford that again. For me, the decision is between him and Josh Freeman, and I don't know if I could pull the trigger on that, but talking it through might help.
