I would sooner believe a flying pig shooting rainbows out of its bunghole.

If the confused look is from beer I can try to explain further. I have an idea for a software that I am designing, and may start an LLC shortly. The problem is I am a below average programmer. I know my shortcomings and would hire a software architect to start the software for me before i started programming. Even then I would probably need to convince my brother to work on the project for it to have any chance of success. He has written his own operating system and created his own computer language. He is not a below average programmer. I am not looking for investments though, that was a joke. I still need to determine how feasible my idea is. This may still be a pipe dream. edit: and what a better place to post a pipe dream than a mmbeer thread. Am I right @Alias Detective

I have a good idea for a business, invest in me. I am still in the research phase, but I might hire a software architect to get the project started, 300k would be a big boost. If the company takes off i could turn that into many millions.

I have heard the name of him and his band. No idea what he has acted in or could not name any of the songs from his band. I assume I have heard a few of his songs on the radio over the years. I could find this out via google search if i cared.

You might be hitting the brain altering chemicals a little too heavily recently. Be careful.

You injured your leg in a gardening accident in November? That's the thread we need.

Meh, does not bother me if i get called out for it. In my case it makes sense, the first pro games i went to were at 3 rivers stadium and my first college football games were happy valley, but I have never lived in PA. My family is from PA and I visited alot, but since i lived in such states as North Dakota, West Virgina, Wyoming, etc I never had a local sports team to adopt that overruled the team my family rooted for. This is the first time in my life I have lived within a 5 hour drive of a major sports team. If someone wants to rag on me, go ahead.

In my opinion that is marketing BS, many companies and sadly government organizations put what the public wants to see on their website rather than the truth. Can't believe everything you read on the internet. Flex fuel is worse for carbon dioxide emissions than gasoline and is worse for MMGW. https://www.reuters.com/business/environment/us-corn-based-ethanol-worse-climate-than-gasoline-study-finds-2022-02-14/

I no longer have a team I root for year in and year out I grew up a pittsburgh/penn state fan in all sports but after moving to Houston I no longer root for the Steelers. I would still get on the pirates bandwagon if they ever turned it around though. I cannot bring myself to ever be an Astros fan, however I think in a few years I may be a Texans fan. In a couple years if i answer this question it could be stroud.

Fuel ethanol is one of those issues where we can blame both sides equally. The original bill was passed in 2005 under a republican president, republican senate, and republican house. Then it was doubled in 2007 in a bill introduced by a democrat and passed by democratic senate/house.
-
The law legislating ethanol in fuel happened during the mid 2000's when gasoline ramped up to 5.00 a gallon. It was passed to help with the fuel supply and was not passed because of any issue related to global warming. The below study finds that corn ethanol actually causes more carbon in the atmosphere than gasoline. Quote from article: The carbon intensity of corn ethanol produced under the RFS is no less than gasoline and likely at least 24% higher. https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2101084119 The below was a snippet from that time period, all reports from this time period talk about how ethanol is a renewable fuel. Nothing to do with global warming. August 2005 — President George W. Bush signs the Energy Policy Act of 2005, requiring oil companies to add ethanol to their gasoline. Called the Renewable Fuels Standard, this mandate begins with a 4-billion-gallon (15.14-billion liter) requirement in 2006 and doubles by 2012. Corn is selling for $1.95 a bushel.

Also known as e85.

Nothing to do with climate change it was legislated in 2005 when the gas prices were ramping up just prior to the discovery of horizontal well fracking. The problem is not just flex fuel but we should even get rid of e10. Compared to pure gasoline ethanol is more corrosive, it is less energy dense, it makes gasoline absorb water easier, it drives up the price of food because we are now introducing more demand against the food supply and it also drives up the price of gasoline because a gallon of ethanol costs more than a gallon of refined gasoline. /rant

So many terrible candidates at the federal level. Edit: Who am I kidding, at all levels of the government.

I thought bill o'brien was a better coordinator than this. He had many crappy QB's that he worked with down in Houston and managed to get yards/points out of them. What he did with Penn state without any scholarships was also impressive. I wonder why he is failing so bad this year. -
Do you know which framework you are going with? Is the app going to be for offline use or will it communicate back to a server you have setup? Are you trying to make something to monetize? How are you going to maintain the app long term? Are you going to learn the language/framework as the app is being developed so you can take on that aspect of the project?

I am also hiring a developer right now, but we are using a headhunting service to provide resumes. I assume you have an LLC, probably want to try indeed or linked in? Depending on how much work it is, there are some forums out there that let you hire a developer part time as well.

Thank you, that means alot.

The company I work for is cutting IT budget by 50% next year across the board. China is in real bad shape and their economy is big enough they could easily force a global recession soon.

If I was given the option of either a 10% pay raise or I could take off 10% of the time that I would otherwise be working I would take the additional vacation easily.

I also have 2,000 on FBG, ~5,000 on the defunct fflivewire, 500 on thehulltruth, 500 on arstechnica, and 200 on a local fishing site. I am here today when I should be working, because I do not need 40 hours a week to do my job yet my employer makes me work those hours. I am looking forward to the day when we work 9 80's or 32 hours a week. Hopefully it becomes the standard before I retire.
