Oops... For years, many of you New England haters have prematurely proclaimed that NE is done. From Lawyer Milloy to Weiss, Crennell, Dillon, Moss, Bruschi, Seymour, Ty Law, Deion Branch, Hernandez, etc every year the New England haters latched onto that one story line that they hoped would signal New England's demise. And every year they were wrong. Until this year. This year, New England is... officially DONE. Tom Brady is no longer young enough... good enough... to overcome this team's deficiencies. For NE fans, we knew Brady had aged but we hoped there would be an Elway-like championship - one where the great QB was no longer asked to do everything and the team around him could pick up the slack. But it simply won't end that way in New England. Now... I know the NE haters will snicker and proclaim that the Dynasty was over a long time ago... but sports history will (rightly) shape it otherwise. Here, is the recap of the New England Patriots Dynasty - it was fun while it lasted Pats fans: 2001: SuperBowl winner 2002: 9-7 - missed playoffs 2003: Superbowl winner 2004: Superbowl winner 2005: Playoffs, 2nd round 2006: AFC Championship 2007: Superbowl loser, undefeated regular season 2008: 11-6, no playoffs (Brady injury year) 2009: Playoffs, wild card 2010: Playoffs, second round 2011: SuperBowl loser 2012: AFC Championship 2013: AFC Championship 2014 - end of an era Time finally catches up to Tom Brady. NE's mediocre drafting and questionable personnel decisions are finally too much for the aging QB to overcome. NE still wins the weak AFC East and makes the playoffs but they are no match for the true iron of the NFL.

wow Lizzy ... this has been going on for a Looooooong time. It's gotta be fockin demoralizing. win the SB again? Go undefeated again? Brady MVP again? maybe undefeated and lose superbowl again? that one's really about the best outcome for non pats fans... but then the history books just keep filling up... it's kinda like they either win a SB or win every focking game of the year but the SB.

I ain't been here in a while... new look, new bored, new icons... wow... but The Patriots talk is still the same. Nice.

The problem with 401k's... there are two outcomes: 1. Most people do save enough and 1.5 million dollars just isn't worth what you thought it would be b/c/ everyone has that laying around. 2. Most people don't save enough and with 1.5 million dollars, those who saved are considered "rich" and the tax/income laws are changed to take a much larger portion of that savings for the betterment of society.

not fervent at all... in fact, fervent makes me uncomfortable. as I get older, I ponder "religion" more... I try to understand it, want to understand it because it impacts our world so much... but, like politicians, there isn't really one religion that fits me perfectly - I'm Irish Catholic but respect/appreciate a lot of Buddhist concepts. I guess overall I do believe that there is a shared connectedness or consciousness that all people (and maybe living thins share)... that goodness and good deeds and kindness can easily spread to lift up the larger community and affect people mentally and physically - is that "The Holy Spirit"? I don't know... I'm not even really comfortable typing/saying "The Holy Spirit" because I'm so skeptical of organized religions, and the corruption/manipulation that can come from them. This whole topic reminded me of a video from a youtuber I follow - I admire this guys camera work and story telling - I'm guessing he's Mormon and from Utah and pretty deeply religious - but none of his other videos are religious. I'm guessing this imagery does a pretty good job of depicting a lot of what you're talking about TTBOM.

This was pretty much the same group of NE Defensive Players that couldn't stop anyone last year including Foles. Except Matt Patricia is gone to DET and Hightower was healthy for the SB. Is Hightower that good? Was Patricia that bad? how does essentially the same group of players go from being swiss cheese to the defensive juggernaut that stopped KC and demolished LA?

Belichick won that game in the 1st half. Brady won that game in the 2nd half/OT. It almost doesn't matter who you put around them.

Saving Private Ryan is IMO, the unquestioned #1 - in a category all alone. The D-Day scene was the most jaw dropping war sequence ever made and nothing I have seen even comes close. May not be worthy of a "best ever" list but I enjoyed Dunkirk. And yeah, Band of Brothers is my all time favorite war series but doesn't qualify for this list either.

Tom Brady, with his 13th appearance, has made it to the AFC Championship in 75% of the seasons he's played in. Drew Brees, in his record breaking season, completed 74% of his passes. There is a better chance that Tom Brady will be in the AFC Championship than there is Drew Brees will complete a pass.
