    Detroit Lions got RAPED

Looked like a catch to me but the correct call was made according to the rules. Even the Lions coach agreed that the call was correct. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/09/lions-coach-jim-schwartz-on-controversial-call-in-loss-to-bears-we-didnt-finish-with-the-football/1

PATS favored already for next year!

Their defense is getting old but they did add some youth last year and the stregnth of their defense (d line) is still in their prime. Trading Cassell for some picks may help improve the defense. A lot hinges on Brady's health.

    Hey Peenie

You wanted me to keep you up to date on our relationship. I’ll refer to my gf as S because she has kind of a unique first name (it starts with S) and I don’t trust anyone on this site not to some how find out who she is and totally fock this up. Last weekend we went to her Mother’s place. Its about a 4 hour drive to her moms but we didn’t stay overnight. Her mom has a small house in an OK neighborhood. Its not the best looking neighborhood but most of the houses are well kept. There were a scattering of some real ###### holes among the well kept ones. But her moms house was very neat inside and decorated nicely. Very cozy and homey. Her mother was super nice and made me feel at home. It was mostly pretty tame chit chat. When S was on the telephone her mom got a little more serious with the chit chat. She was just concerned that S liked me a lot and that maybe I was going to hurt her. I assured her that I felt the same way about her. She smiled and said she was very happy that her daughter has met someone like me. Her little brother was in and out of the house in about half an hour so I didn’t really get to talk to him much and never really formed an opinion of him. He dressed like he could have been in a gang but I guess most black guys dress like that so I didn’t judge him on his clothes. All in all it went very well meeting her mom. So then this past weekend we flew to Boston to meet my family. My cousin who grew up across the street from me was getting married. She was going to get to meet a lot of relatives. My dad died two years ago so she was going to meet my mom and sister and 2 brothers. All of them are older than me and my sis and oldest brother are married. S got along great with my sister and my mom. My sister lives in Vermont so she was also staying at my moms place with her husband. S stayed in her own bedroom. Both my mom and sister thought S was gorgeous looking. The wedding was pretty uneventful. S met some of my cousins and Uncles and Aunts and I didn’t hear any racial or inappropriate comments. The relatives that I was concerned about are getting pretty old now and it is likely they are too senile to realize she was black. Sunday may have been one of the best days ever in my life. We drove down to Cape Cod. Way down towards the tip to Wellfleet and made our way out to the beach. After two weekends of worrying about meeting our families we could finally relax a little. We packed some food (chips, sandwiches, cheese) and wine and a couple of folding chairs and blankets and walked down the beach. The National seashore on Cape Cod is beautiful and very long. We walked until we were basically the only people on the beach. I think the fact that the Red Sox were playing, made for a more deserted cape cod beach. I hate lugging crap on sand but it was worth the isolation. We set up the chairs and blanket and just relaxed with wine and food watching the waves crashing in. It was a little overcast but not as cold as usual for this time of the year. We shared the Sunday New York Times and remembered our first date. Something about the sound of the surf just puts me in a peaceful state of mind. As it got later in the day it got cooler and we stayed warm under the blankets and then things started to warm up even more…. Making love on the beach was a little awkward but it was awesome. I highly recommend it . We flew back on Monday. I don’t know where this relationship goes from here and I hope she doesn’t ask me. I am just enjoying it right now. a couple of recent pics: one two

How much gas does a typical NASCAR race waste?

To answer edjr's original question. The Nascar racecars use up about 6000 gallons on a typical race weekend. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/speed/arti...scargas-ON.html

    Heading to Philly

I've been to a lot of cities in the US and would say only Detroit is worse. The cheesesteaks? They sux. People in philly are so proud of these cheap sandwiches and they are nothing but crap. The whole place is a pit and the people are jerks.

Bruce Weber is a piece of crap

I would rank UCLA, Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas and Duke over Indiana. Not top 5 all time IMO.

what the heck is up with that steve young guy

Yeah, something is up with him. He stated the other day that the quarterbacks in the nfl sux now. He said the Pats should be ashamed at running up the score but he used to do that with 49ers and as a matter of fact ran up the score in a super bowl. He is like one of those grouchy old men who says things were better in my day and everything new sux. Your description of him sounds like Al Gore when he debated George Bush.

How about this trade for Johan Santana

I think that is a lot for Santana. You are talking about two starters who are as close to can't miss as you will find. Coco is nothing to the Red Sox. The thing is that the Red Sox should be able to get a good deal from The Twins because the Twins are the ones in the bad position of losing Santana. I would part with Lester or Bucholtz (I would hate to lose Clay though), Coco and some other prospects.

Sawx would be A-Rods #1 Choice

I agree. If the Sox got ARod and let Lowell go then I would play Arod at Short and just try to find a really good defensive 3rd baseman who is an ok hitter. You don't need a great hitting third baseman if Arod is your shortstop. Youkilis is a great first baseman but may be a liability at third.

Sawx would be A-Rods #1 Choice

I hear there is no way the sox would pay what he is currently asking. And you figure there must be a team that has offered a lot of money or why else would he have opted out of the contract with the Yankees. Either there is a mystery team (Like the Tigers or Dodgers) that have talked to Boras before he opted out or this could be one of the dumbest agent moves all time by Boras. I wouldn't mind having arod on my team but i would just be worried about losing other players because he takes up so much salary space. I'm actually a little concerned about how many players the Yankees will sign this off season with the savings from Arod.

Everyone is thinking it, so I'll say it

These are always dumb posts. Injuries are part of football. You play with your healthy guys. Last year the Pats played the Colts without two guys who will end up in the hall of fame (seymour and seau) and another who is borderline hall of fame (Robeny harrison). Big deal. I would never say the Colts were not worthy champions. The injuries are part of the game. I am sure if these two teams meet again there will be other players injured. You deal with them. The better teams deal with the injuries better.
