No I am comparing the people complaining about a lack of people wanting to engage in dialogue to them actively not engaging in dialogue.

I did not mention Charlie being shot in any way.

    Thank you for playing

Your explanation was somehow even more idiotic than the original post. Stop digging

I understand from your point of view.

From my own, it’s a more simple equation: I am voting for Democrats first and foremost because I want them to shut down Trump’s tariffs. But that’s a federal issue and doesn’t apply to your governor. There a lots of other reasons I am voting for the Dems but the tariffs come first.

Ha and see i find that baffling. But i get it too.

Whatever politicians’ view on school choice, it’s not a priority in Congress. There’s not going to be any change to the status quo for years IMO, so having this as a big issue in terms of who you support doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Well gun to my head i dont want democrats anywhere near power. My kids are in public because i want them to deal with all kinds of kids, not religious either but i dont think excellent students should be hamstrung by being forced to stay in a crap school.
Honestly state level other than taxes very little is going to actually effect us.

This is baffling (like most of your crazy decisions). Seems to me like you're compromising the health of yourself and your kids because taxes might go up, and you're going to vote for a weak candidate that will likely ignore pollution issues.

Its ONE factor. We are also near the top in binge drinking, radiation levels, obesity, etc that all contribute to cancer rates. So its not like “oh its just the farmers!”

its A factor. We’re also in des moines and have a massive filtration system.

another democrat taxing us out of our minds to pay for their BS is more a concern.

School choice has been a pet issue of the right for decades because they want to home school or send their kids to religious schools and have the rest of us pay for it.

Some but alot just want to get out of terrible schools and have the means. FWIW no i dont think we should subsidize that option.

Ive never heard a rational explanation why if you can, you shouldn’t put your kid in a better school.

Would you consider voting for Sand? Isn't his competitor for Gov. a Big Ag shill that doesn't seem to GAF about the pollution issues?

No because he wants to get rid of school choice and he’s absolutely going to bend us over on taxes.

Not just bc hes democrat but Sand feels very almost contrived and performative. Lane just is weak. And its going to cost him.

But I mean Russia and Iran are both bad actor countries on the international stage for a variety of reasons. Some of those reasons overlap.

I think we should middle finger both scenarios and pull away from them. The US has chosen not to :dunno:

I do think it's silly to not be mad about Ukraine with being mad about Russia....but I think it's equally silly to handwave away the Iran stuff but be hyper focused on Ukraine.

It's almost as if the problem here isn't what specifically happening but rather what political party engaged in the action the most.

I mean, sort of. Iran is obviously quite a much more direct threat to us and our allies that probably needs to be handled. It makes absolutely no difference if you Ukraine falls. The idea that Russia is just gonna roll through Europe when they can’t even defeat Ukraine? Also not a plausible scenario. So it’s costing us billions costing all of them hundreds of thousands of lives and we’re not going to get anything for that. At least with their Ron we can break them to where they are not a threat to us in our friends in the region, which I would say is definitely gaining something.

I'm consistent about my thoughts that the Middle East is a dumb quagmire and we should let them solve themselves since they are forever too reliant on us to do anything. Also, the intel is at best suspect.

Gas and oil prices right now are high almost entirely due to the middle east issues and the Strait of Hormuz being blocked choking off supply.

In a vacuum, I agree with you. Problem is if we just leave them alone they’re constantly building bunkers to try to enrich uranium for a nuclear bomb, which cannot happen.

I’m not disagreeing with that. But in the name of national interest I’ll live with it if it keeps us safe. That’s been my whole point is this view that a few months in and gas prices not astronomically high that somehow the end of the world. But years and years of war in Ukraine, with billions of our dollars going for a losing war that gets us absolutely nothing is somehow OK.

    That’s completely insane logic

  9. 27 minutes ago, Sean Mooney said:

We should've stayed out of both of them.

Your oil production argument is silly. We are still producing more oil barrels of oil than anyone in history and oil and gas are still very expensive here.

Ian? No absolutely not. Or did you wanna wait for them to start launching nuclear warheads to start caring?

Your oil comment is two, if not, three separate arguments

At this rate we’ll be back to where we were before the war in no time. Minus tens of billions of taxpayer dollars and the casualties.

Yeah, you’re right. Ukraine has been a complete disaster to get involved in.

  12. 7 minutes ago, thegeneral said:

What does an actual quagmire “that you got us involved in” mean lol.

Yes demand is what caused the oil price spike primarily, the Ukraine war helped spike them.

Biden’s energy policies were intended to accelerate a shift towards alternate energy. I don’t think you read my post correctly.

It means we absolutely did not have to get involved in Ukraine. It’s an absolute show that is costing us billions of dollars and lots of hardware. Somehow you guys have looked the other way on this but a few months into Iran, where we are just picking them apart and waiting for them to fall, but that somehow is a quagmire.

Yes, demand. You portrayed as in Joe produced all this oil when it had zero to do with him.

  13. 4 minutes ago, thegeneral said:

You said new green deal, Joe Biden’s energy policies and now apparently Joe Biden causing the Ukraine war (not really sure what you are saying there) caused oil prices to go up.

I said it was primarily rapid recovery from Covid, unwinding global Covid shutdown and then the Ukraine War came as all that was happening.

The new green deal, Biden talking up alternate energy had little to do with prices at the time.

My point of view is Biden wanted the U.S. to produce enough oil while simultaneously accelerating the transition to alternatives. I don’t see the problem with that.

Jfc never said joe caused it.

He didnt “accelerate” anything. Demand accelerated it…he had nothing to do with it. He had few to zero domestic oil policy that would INCREASE production and lowering prices on their own…could easily argue he did things to make it worse than what it was or had to be.

  14. 59 minutes ago, thegeneral said:

I see we are done talking about the new green deal causing oil prices to spike and changed to this Iran war versus Ukraine and Russia lol

Its a message board dude…we bounce around on topics even within a thread about Rob Sand of all people.

YOU claimed aaaallllll this oil. Simply pointed out it wasnt because of a pro oil stance but world demand after covid and an actual quagmire you got us involved in…had zero to do with biden.

“I don’t live in Iowa but let me tell you how it is”

JFC you can’t make this up

Well, you’re talking about a candidate you don’t have any idea who they are. Whatever state you’re in I would never hop on tell you what to think about candidates in your own state that you know far better than I will.

But leave it to liberals… they’re arrogant enough to opine on it for sure. Lol

    Ranting and raving lol

The answer you are looking for is that Biden’s talk about alternate energy and policies had an extremely limited impact on oil prices or oil production. This resulted in maybe a few percentage points in the price.

I support Ukraine. Russia invaded a sovereign country. We didn’t start this, Ukraine didn’t start this.Ukraine has the right to defend itself, and allowing Russia to take territory by force is some bullshit. We cut way back since bozo was elected and war is still going on. I certainly wouldn’t be on Russia’s side of this, would you?

Iran war was pitched as a few weeks and we’d be out. I don’t have a problem with that. 8 months later no end in sight and what is our goal now to get back to how it was before. Donald focked this up big time and can’t figure out how to unwind it.

Lol so you guys have gone from they weren’t even a threat to now they’re such a threat. It’s now a quagmire or never-ending war.

Meanwhile, you have no problem with spending millions upon millions for Ukraine that has absolutely nothing to do with us.

The logic is my numbingly crazy.

  17. 2 minutes ago, thegeneral said:

I didn’t say Biden was some big oil guy, I provided you the data for what actually happened.

Please do go on though. Tell me what amount you think these policies actually had the price of a gallon of gas in 2022.

The Ukraine war was one of the biggest contributors. When you talk us getting involved what are you saying should have happened?

Oh no, you’re ranting and raving, and can’t stop using the same line that he produced all this oil when it really had nothing to do with him and you know it didn’t.

We should’ve stayed out of it. It’s just hilarious that you don’t see the difference between the two events and how one is actually beneficial for us and we get nothing out of this Ukraine thing which has gone on for how many years now? But none of you ever say what a quagmire or never-ending war that is but somehow Iran in a handful of months is.

Like disingenuous isn’t even the word for it

  18. 2 minutes ago, thegeneral said:

Kind of having trouble following it. But I think the line is the debacle with Iran is worth it and Biden caused all the issues in 2022 because of the new green deal and electric car subsidies.

I never said it did. I’m saying one was caused by terrible domestic oil policy and one is caused by protecting our national interest in our allies national interest as far as safety. Yeah one’s quite a bit more easy to swallow than the other. Stop acting like they’re the exact same thing because they’re not.

  19. 2 minutes ago, thegeneral said:

    Is it terrifying lol

Please post a study or any evidence supporting your claim - Biden’s energy policy’s played some major, I’ll take minor role, in why oil spiked in 2022.

You shouldn’t even have to look this stuff up. Is killing off the Keystone pipeline disrupted oil speculation, which hurts prices, he got involved in the Ukraine war which is still raging on yet somehow you don’t see that as a never-ending war what a shock right?
Climate messaging, leases, but for lower acres, and far more regulations.

I can go on if you want to, but to act like Joe with some big oil guy so comically laughable I’m shocked anyone would actually type that and put their name to it

  20. Just now, thegeneral said:

What does what Biden said matter to why oil spiked? Talking about moving from oil into other forms of energy. Big whoop. We produced the most oil and natural gas ever when he was Prez.

We are talking about why oil / gas got so expensive in 2023z You touched on it in 2022 in your second paragraph. You have almost gotten there!

It’s terrifying you don’t know the answer the first question.

I know you wanna keep vomiting the line that he produced the most oil, but it’s not catching any traction. Everyone knows why and it has nothing to do with his policies towards it. And actually he had almost nothing to do with the production it was just the market. But he can certainly do things to hurt the market.

    Big Oil Joe!! 🤣🤣

i’ve seen you liberals do a lot of revisionist history, but this might take the cake
