So what is the geek club reading these days? I’m always looking for something good to read. I just finished Swan Song by Robert McCammon. It’s a post apocalyptic horror/thriller. Think “The Stand” but maybe a bit darker. I really enjoyed it.

This is 1000% accurate. I’ve been hit with reasonably small limits at Ceasars, fanduel, draftkiings DK so small that they are unusable.

A sportsbook gave me tickets to see Taylor Swift in May, which I would have passed on except that my wife loves her. And it’s in a suite so this will get me some serious credit.

Not my usual genre, but the first song that popped into my head is Goodbye Earl by the Dixie Chicks. It’s a damned fun song.

I came in here just to say The Quick and the Dead. It’s not a great movie: maybe it’s not even a good one. But when I come across it, I can’t see to stop watching. ETA: I don’t see The Replacements on there either. Another one that is entertaining, even if it’s not great.

Oh I’m happy now. Didn’t like being 8k in on a team that was down but I saw no way the niners lost this one

Alright, we’ll I’m deep on the 49ers here at halftime on the money line. Live betting them. that was terrible gifting them 3 points and the lead at half.

Iowa basketball lost today in the biggest upset in history. They were 31.5 point favorites at home over Eastern Illinois. Most sportsbooks didn’t even have a moneyline with odds on E.I. to win it Iowa jumped out to an 18-4 lead and then led by 7 at halftime. They were outscored by nearly 20 in the second half. I lost $3,000 and that was the smallest loss of my close group of gambling friends. Vegas must have absolutely cleaned up in this one.

Well TCU won by a point, so I’m happy. the line was -2.5, so they books are probably happy with no cover by tcu

I love love love TCU -130 moneyline vs Baylor. tCU has been undervalued all season, and this seems like a shockingly low number. I’m gonna go check for anything I’m missing. But I’m definitely jumping on this with both feet.

How is the ##### do the giants keep doing this? What a difference having a competent coach makes.

Man, I don’t believe the NFL is rigged. But sometimes it seems like the fix is in. First drive, Colts go 3 and out becasue they are garbage. They punt, chiefs try to field it and fumble at their own 4. Td colts. saw that and said “and here we go”

I do too. Usually pretty easy to spot a trap…this feels like one. but I’m playing it over from every angle in my head and don’t see how the colts can win thjs game

I love love love the Chiefs moneyline -240. I don’t get it, that’s shockingly low. There has to be something I’m not seeing, this screams trap.

And there is HR number 60. Also, he’s now leading the average as well.

And he’s now 1 point away from leading for the triple crown. 4-5 today to get to .316. With those power numbers, that average is incredible.

Lightning was the first Koontz book I read and I loved it. I recently dug it out and gave it a reread. read a bunch of his after that and never found one that lived up to Lightning.

Yup, it’s brutal. I haven’t gone a day without betting since June. I thought I wouldn’t like it. it was actually nice. It gave me a day to reset mentally.

This is fantastic. Especially since my parents and grandparents would tell us that we catholic irish were high class or “Irish lace”. And they told us not to wear Orange like those “pig sh1t Irish”. no kidding, as a kid, I thought Pig Sh1t Irish was an actual thing.

Yeah he looked gassed in the first two sets. But man did he turn it on.

That match was fantastic. It’s seemed to last 10 hours but I would have watched it for another 10. I’ve been watching the other big names in the tournament and there are some shots that I saw yesterday where I’m convinced nobody else can make them. My only question is whether Novak has a letdown for the final now that he performed the near impossible here.
