The first couple years it was drafting with my college buddies. We'd get together with a bunch of beer and cigars and talk ###### all night. Then it was how it made me 1000X more aware of everything in the NFL. Now? With everyone ultra informed about everything from player histories to training camp reports, it's drafting a nobody in the 10th round and seeing him explode into a superstar by week 4, and winning your league for you. How many of you rode the "TE" Colston train last year? Or knew Maurice Jones-Drew from his UCLA days, and took a flier on him in the 15th round? I'm not saying I did either of these things, but this is the kind of stuff I love about FF. Making great late round picks, or gutsy waiver wire pickups and rubbing it in your friends' faces.

So here's a question: Would you rather have Green with his age but guaranteed carries and coach devoted to running, OR Tatum Bell in the Martz offense, but with a gimpy Kevin Jones lingering around?
-
...when the Geek Board wasn't a fuming bed of right wing fanatics?
-
Did you watch him at Pitt? I always thought him and Drew Stanton were a lot alike. NFL-quality arm, gutsy, hard to rattle, with a fierce competitive streak. Stanton just had a better supporting cast (who liked to choke, but still, he definitely had better WRs). Palko worked with very little, and worse, had a rotating cast of hasbeens for coaches. Still, he has the stuff to be an NFL starter one day.

I think Palko won himself a job last night. He was good for an undrafted QB. If the Saints don't keep him, someone will sign him.

Three "2nd string" RBs in my top 12 rankings!
ProfessorZ replied to Ricky's Swami's topic in FFToday Board
I completely agree with you about LJ. Post 400+ carry season, holding out, his line is in shambles, he has no proven QB. There's way too many question marks around this guy to take him in the first round, let alone #2 overall. -
He went 2.09 in my 12 team league. Pick 21 overall. His value is rising steadily in mocks and real drafts. I wouldn't wait past the mid-second round.

ATTENTION! We're now taking bets on what week Mike Shanahan is found in a dumpster, his body dismembered, throat slashed, and a whale diick rammed up his ass. Over/Under = week 6 PLACE YOUR BETS!@# -

HOLY FOCK. After that rant, after I said this was THE STUPIDEST THREAD in big text, you still supply yet another ASSTARD ANSWER. Congrats. Did you read Tweaker's post? The draft is on. The first nine choices are in. Tweaker listed them. Westbrook is available. Is the FFToday Board always this focking stupid? Hey Tweaker, don't listen to these guys. Take LT. I hear he's going to be good this year.

Congrats everyone, this is the stupidest thread on the bored. Tweaker posts his draft, the league rules, and asks who to take at #10. - One asshat (Saints1) tells him to take Manning, while quoting the original post that says Manning went at #7. - Another asshat (here's looking at you football is life!) suggests taking Bush, who went the pick before him at #9. Tweaker, at #10 in a point-per-reception league, I'd think Westbrook is a no-brainer. I'd consider Carson Palmer because only Manning and him are near-locks for 30 TDs, but there's a good chance Bulger, Brady or Brees could produce similar TDs this year. Even with QBs getting 6pts per TD, I'd rather take Westbrook and another solid #2 RB at pick #14, then go QB in the third round. Best of luck.

10 Politically Incorrect Truths About Human Nature
ProfessorZ replied to Boz/BoFan's topic in The Geek Club
Agreed. Everything can be oversimplified by explaining it in terms of the reproductive drive. In the grand tradition of the Darwin Awards, I give this article a Freud Award. -
If this is true, we need details. :hyper:
