Who here still supports Jan 6 attack?

Appreciate you, Fnord! So let's parse this, and in particular, the bolded. It's obvious from this post that there was no explicit request directly to Trump to unleash the NG, so your point is that he should have done so on his own. And I had just posted how requests were made that day but were cancelled by other folks, which is corroborated by your post. So let's get a yes/no on this: do you believe that the POTUS, a civilian who makes final decisions on CIC recommendations from his advisors, should have sent in the NG that day without the advice of military/security expert advisers? (McCarthy, Pelosi, Schumer, Pence don't qualify as such experts) Another yes/no: what should happen to Then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy for sitting on the request, and Lt. Gen Piatt for his priority of optics? Furthermore, should a former POTUS and current adversarial candidate to the current regime be under criminal indictment for not following the lack of advice from such advisers?

Who here still supports Jan 6 attack?

I'll flaunt my ignorance here and ask: was he specifically asked to order in the NG from his experts, and didn't do it? I honestly don't know, but that doesn't seem the case from the article I posted. I'll break that into two parts: the time leading up to 1/6, and as the SHTF on the day. The answers significantly impacts my opinion.

Didn't you just read the article? Are you saying that Trump should be convicted because he didn't personally pick up the phone and call them?
  5. The section I went to last summer seemed nice enough, near the 1 train. Had a nice dinner there with my daughter, I think it was Dinosaur BBQ https://www.google.com/maps/place/Dinosaur+Bar-B-Que/@40.8169989,-73.9578203,17z/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x89c2f66e2188a29f:0xb408afef09e2702e!2sHarlem,+New+York,+NY!3b1!8m2!3d40.8115504!4d-73.9464769!16zL20vMGY5NHQ!3m5!1s0x89c2f64267a7c6a5:0xc32504d8a73c6ba1!8m2!3d40.8180979!4d-73.9608447!16s%2Fg%2F1v1vf3kh?entry=ttu Clientele was 50/50 white/other. There were certainly plenty of POC there.

On the topic of taking your wife to such a place -- we've been, but it wasn't a regular thing. There was a Hooters downtown which was convenient for some pub food and beer around sporting events. Also a local place by ASU called The Library with girls in sexy schoolgirl outfits which was an "in" place to go, and a Coyote Ugly I think we went to, maybe in Vegas. These were all when we were younger. I think my wife is beautiful, but over time she ages, and the workers at these places don't, so IMO if I were to propose such a place now in our late 50s, it would be disrespectful to her.
  7. A juror who was seated on the jury for former President Donald Trump in the Manhattan “Hush-Money” Trial earlier this week was excused on Thursday, saying she had concerns about her ability to be fair and impartial and had concerns about her identity being made public. New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan called attorneys up to confer shortly after taking the bench on Thursday, April 18, saying that the woman also known as “Juror 2” had slept on the decision overnight and informed the court she wished to be dismissed. She was sworn in earlier in the week with six others, including one alternate, on the second day of the trial. She was brought into the room and said after thinking about it, she has friends, colleagues, and family that “push things” and outside influences that would likely affect her impartiality. She added that she had been identified as a juror from news reports. This is a developing story and will be updated.

House votes to impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas over border crisis

Good post. Lots of bad precedents here. I said earlier that I thought he should not be impeached because he is basically carrying out the will of his boss. Now we have another bad precedent of just dismissing charges along party lines.

Some compelling evidence that the National Guard was held back from helping on 1/6, and that officials lied about it. https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/top-military-official-lied-about-jan-6-details-whistleblowers-5631388?utm_source=RTNews&src_src=RTNews&utm_campaign=rtbreaking-2024-04-17-3&src_cmp=rtbreaking-2024-04-17-3&utm_medium=email&est=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa%2Bc5ZwoL29TE7ZMJs2RQB%2Fp5xE4rMJYB6XwmPih86EDY1%2BPA ETA: And I just highlighted the fact that none of these folks were formally interviewed by the 1/6 committee, further evidence that that committee was a witch hunt and not a pursuit of truth.

Perhaps you were working on a particularly hard Excel macro for 8 years and missed the cult of personality that was Saint Barack. No criticism was allowed; that made you raciss. "I don't think it was a good idea to give all of those guns to the Mexican cartels." "Raciss says WHAT?#@!"

  18. Thanks. To @thegeneral, since I'm too lazy to go find the earlier post: sorry I missed the humor. I was trying to wrap some stuff up today before heading out to the DBacks/Cubs game (DBacks lost, boo) and my humor sensor was turned off.

AZ Brings Back 160 Year Old Abortion Ban

I once again put the AZ Republican representatives up against any other state for being utter idiots. They could get the 15 week ban, but instead, they'll end up with a constitutional amendment that basically allows abortion until the baby pops out. Focking ratards.

I'm not sure I've been to a Twin Peaks. The Tilted Kilt I mentioned had good pub food. I recall chatting with a few girls there who had good heads on their shoulders (yes, they had heads and shoulders!) They were just working there to take advantage of their looks to make some bank during college.

The Tilted Kilt HQ and a large restaurant used to be next door to the Cards training facility in Tempe, about 4 miles from my house. Girls loved to work that restaurant because, well, Cards players and staff often went there. Word was that more than a few girls found their future ex-boyfriends that way.
  22. No, you should provide a one-word answer.
  23. Inability to read is a sign of cognitive decline, a very Bidenesque characteristic. Tee to green I was good. Then I either 3-putted or chipped poorly and 2-putted (a few times both). This is not rocket surgery.
