    MJD

The way they are talking about the injury is that it could be a lingering injury that he may need to play through pain at times. What I don't get is that they said he coulda got his knee scoped and maybe have been out like 2-3 weeks so you would think if it was a definite problem they woulda got that out of the way and try to have him ready by week 1 or 2. I am still a bit worried because of how he seemed to slow down towards the end of the year, but MJD is one tough SOB. I would drop him a bit in rankings if I were still drafting, but really not sure how far. I know I would have a hard time passing him up from the 6th or 7th spot on thats for sure...

    Portis vs Barber ppr

Id go Barber, he is a good receiving RB and should get a lot of catches. Portis will definitely get more touches and yards, but the lack of receptions I feel makes Barber the better pick. Also with Betts coming in being the 3rd down back, he wont be catching balls during those times and I feel Dallas will score quite a bit more than Washington, and Barber should be the GL back.

    MJD and Turner

Im on the MJD train here. I think they will find the right amount of carries to keep him fresh and not overdo it like Barber last year. MJD is one of the best goal line backs in the league so although i hear alot of people thinking that he will somehow be replaced at the goaline, I will not believe it until I see it (which I dont think will happen). In a recent story MJD expects to see between 330 to 350 touches this year, so give him 50 to 60 catches and he scould get like 275 carries or so. I also feel Turner is not nearly gonna be as effective this year. He had the perfect season there, and I dont see it happening again. He was terrible against good defenses, and this year he has a brutal schedule. No way he gets nearly as many carries as last year too, I have him way down on my draft board. But I guess you can pick any RB and find a big hole or caution to them, but personally I see MJD being better than Turner.

If you have a top 5 pick...

Just read this on MJD from Rotoworld... Maurice Jones-Drew expects to receive 330-350 touches this season. "The game has evolved a little bit, thanks to Marshall Faulk, and Brian Westbrook and even Brian Mitchell with the Redskins," said Jones-Drew. "The position is more about touches now than carries." MJD makes a salient point, and we expect him to be among the league-leaders in RB receptions while touching the ball around 340 times.

    Johnson & Johnson

If I had to choose, I would take AJ over CJ. I liked last year where Andre was just a beast and was steady as can be with his catches and yards, yet CJ relied a bit on big TD passes. CJ would be like 2 catches for 30 yds then bust out a 60 yd TD to save the week. I just like the more steady production out of Andre, but really you cant go wrong with either one. It looked like when Stafford went in yesterday he threw like 4 or 5 passes out of his first 10 to the WR lined up in Calvin's spot, so it looks like he may lean on CJ quite a bit if he starts. CJ's ceiling is just so high, he is awesome to watch. Luckily for me I have both of them in a keeper league this year and dont have to choose!
  6. Is there any truth/proof about this??? Im not calling you out but rather curious, but I just dont see why they would take him out of goal line duties. Isnt that his bread and butter?

Need some advice on auction league.

my group did our first live auction last year and I was skeptical as well, but it was truly great and didnt last as long as I thought... once you get through the big names it goes rather quick and with it being your guys first year I would guess most will tend to overspend right away, making the middle to late picks go cheap and quick. We are only an 8 team league with 14 roster spots, so that may change a lil to your guys. We just had people nominate then let the bidding go until there was a pause then the auctioneer (someone not in league would be best) just say "going once, going twice, ... sold" It worked great and was a lot of fun, definitely better than the snake drafts. One word of advise, it may just have been my group but the first time auction drafting most just overpaid right away on the first 3 players on their team... one person sat back forever and got I think P.Manning and LT dirt cheap as most of us couldnt afford it. It may not be the same for your draft, but if I were to do another one with a new group that would def be my strategy. Just have fun, order a pizza and drink beers, it will be a fun time.

    Calvin Johnson

Woah there tough guy, settle down... 1. I would def say AJ, Fitz and possibly moss are higher keepers than Calvin is now, so yes I do think his trade value can be more. 2. Tell me who is thinking of trying to trade away Brees/Jennings and Brees/White just for Calvin and Ill call them an idiot. Unless they have another top 5 QB it would just be dumb to do a 2 for 1 trade with the #1 QB and top 10 WR. 3. Ok yes I do know some things about Stewart, he is a great RB and should be good. But so is DWill, and its not like they are just going to kick him off to the side after last year and let Stewart carry the load. Who knows when that may happen, DWill is not very old himself. All Im saying is that its more than likely gonna be a RBBC in Carolina which would make playing Stewart this year a guessing game every week on if he will get the ball in the redzone/get the majority of the carries. I personally would want a starter where I know what I would get out of him at RB.

    Calvin Johnson

huh? how would you never get more for him? He was #3 wr with no QB all year in his sophomore year, no way Stafford cant be better than Orlofsky(sp?) or Kitna in which he got these numbers. He is all they got, he will get the ball. also on your trade options: who would actually offer up those people? Honestly, it would be an easy option to trade CJ for the #1 QB and a top 10 Wr that you are sayin, but no way anyone would offer that. Those options you put up are never gonna happen if you are playin with semi intelligent people. Also the people sayin they would take the trade of Stewart and a WR for CJ... why would u want Stewart? At best he will be splitting carries with D. Williams for a bit, Williams is young and is coming off a career year. Unless Williams gets hurt, playing Stewart any week would seem risky to me. I have CJ in a PPR league too and no way I would trade him. If you have glaring holes in your team then yes I would think about it but it would take a lot to move him, his potential is just sky high for years to come.

    Dynasty League: Who to keep?

thanks for the responses guys... This is going to be our first year being able to keep players so I am kinda new to it, but it should be fun. last year the top 4 WR's prices where: Moss: 22 Braylon Edwards: 17 Wayne: 17 Housh: 13 also at QB there were about 5 guys that cost more than 10 bucks then just right around the 5-9 range. It is just that Andre was soooooooo huge last year with PPR, he went on like a 5 week stretch where he had 10+ receptions. Idk its hard because I want to keep those guys but 4 RB's last year went for over 30 bucks... I got to remember that other people are gonna keep people so the top guys may not go for so much... I am normally a person to get a good balanced team, not spend my money on 2-3 players and hope to make some lucky cheap picks... Ugh the more I keep thinking about it the more confused I get... Any more input?

    Dynasty League: Who to keep?

I play in an 8 person league that just last year decided to make it a dynasty league. We are able to keep up to 3 players from last year. We do an auction draft PPR leaguewith starting salary at $100. In order to keep a player from last year, you must add $5 to that players expense last year... example is drafting Andre Johnson last year at $10, in order to keep him it would cost $15. We play QB QB RB RB RB/WR WR WR WR/TE K DEF So I have a list of 4 players I am having trouble deciding to keep on my team or not... Ill list them, what they were drafted $$$ wise last year, and what they would cost to keep them... Andre Johnson last year $10 to keep $15 MJD last year $9 to keep $14 gotta keep this one given its PPR Calvin Johnson last year $6 to keep $11 Donovan McNabb last year $3 to keep $8 I was previously leaning towards taking the first three, but if I do I already spent $40 bucks out of the starting $100. But im guessing with everyone keeping up to 3 players I wont have to spend too much on other players with some top guys already off the sheet. Also with it being a 2 QB league and the help the Eagles gave McNabb, I keep 2nd guessing myself. Sorry this is so long, but am I just thinking this over too much? Should I not keep the maximum 3 people and keep the money to spend on the big guys? Any help would be great...

Who will be the number 1 RB....

And with the cold coming, he may have a chance to redeem his terrible start to the year. He has had some tough defenses to run on lately and has came up pretty big. Hopefully he can get back to running like last year...

    Mewelde Moore

MeMo has had some easy run Def's he has got to go against while Willie has been out and while Willie has played he has had 2 or 3 rough matchups... MeMo has played great in place of Willie and is a much better receiving back than Willie, but because he has had some cake matchups I think it makes him look better than he really is. With FWP banged up I dont see why they wouldnt have a RBBC to save Parker so he makes it through the year. FWP>>MeMo
