  1. In a 12-team league, I've been offerred Braylon Edwards and Kevin Curtis for Torry Holt and Devery Henderson. I consider Curtis to be a throwaway, but think that Edwards has great upside for what would be my #3 or #4 receiver. Any opinions on this? (Note: We start 3 WRs, my other WRs are Randy Moss / Dwayne Bowe / Nate Burleson.)
  2. I usually say let it slide, but this one smells like shat. Two RB1s and a Top 3 QB for a QB2, WR2, and WR4 with one good week. Question owner B, and if he doesn't have a good answer reverse the trade.
  3. Please rank these WRs for the rest of 2009: Torry Holt Nate Burleson Devery Henderson Mario Manningham. I hope to grab MM when my league's waiver wire opens Wednesday, but I'm debating who of the other three here to drop.

Peyton Manning Shows Some Post Game Class

If you had Gisele waiting for you at home, would you be interested in doing post-game field interviews?

    Is this trade collusion/deniable?

Looks like a very dumb trade. Round 2 or 3 QB for a Round 10 QB. No sane player would trade a Top 3 QB just to improve their defense a bit. But considering the numbers put up so far, I would have to let this one slide. BTW, this is why I would never play for $$$ with people I don't know.

Whatever happened to .... Trung Canidate?

Brian Bosworth Tony Mandarich (not fantasy relevant, but quite the bust) One question: if the Raiders are the only team who thinks Darrius Heyward-Bey is worth a Top 10 pick, will he really be a bust if he doesn't pan out?

    who to pick up?

Agree with your thoughts. Smith = more reliable week-to-week, MM = more upside. There is also a chance that MM loses targets when Hicks and Hixon are back from injury, though I don't think Coughlin is dumb enough keep him as anything other than the #2 based on his past two games.
  8. In my case I'm deciding to drop one of Holt / D. Henderson / N. Burleson for Manningham. I'm currently leaning towards Holt - he did OK yesterday with 65 yards but my #5 WR (play three) should probably be an "upside" kind of guy and IMHO Holt has the least upside of the three. (Of course I'll probably change my mind before waivers open in my league Wednesday morning, and it may not matter since 3 or 4 teams ahead of me in priority may beat me to the punch.) Edit - on further thought (and the post below) I'll drop Henderson for MM if he's still available. This will give me less chance of a "what the f*** was I thinking" moment later in the year.

Steve Smith (NYG) vs Mario Manningham

Agreed that Smith is the #1 WR, but how has Hixon earned the #2 spot? He did a bit of work last year (294 yds, 1 TD while starting last 5 games of the season), but little in the preseason and little in Weeks 1 and 2 (prior to getting hurt). Manningham was a non-factor last year as a rookie, but had an impressive preseason and has quickly become a favorite target of Manning already. Sure he'll lose a few targets when Hixon / Hicks get back, but I don't see how he can be kept off the field after what he's done so far. (I suspect that Hicks will be more of a threat next year than now.)

    Bess and Henderson

Bess and Henderson are just a bit better than waiver wire fodder at this point. Though they may turn into useful fantasy players this season, I'd want better than them for Fast Willie.

Entertaining, but poorly played game. Not surprising, since teams are scared sh*tless to play their starters much in the preseason, that when the games count they look like they aren't really ready.

    Hakeem Nicks

Today showed the NYG have no #2 WR. It is just as likely Nicks fills this void as Hixon, Moss, or anyone else.

    Anthony Gonzo out 2-6 weeks?

Here's hoping Gonzalez gets dropped in my league, so I can swoop in and get a good #3 WR.

so, who's lighting it up for you...

Hasseltwat, Nate Burleson, and Thomas Jones. 4 man bench (incl. bust Dom. Hixon) outscoring starters so far Sunday night.

    ***Official Sunday Night Football Thread***

I have no skin in the game (except for the Bears DEF in a no-$$$ league) - cannot believe the Bears take a 2-point lead and hand the Pack a free FG. Someone should get fired for that call. If it was on the snapper, he may be looking for a new team real soon.

Pick 2 RB out of these for week one start

Pick Turner and Forte off of the waiver wire and start them. If they aren't available, forfeit. I hope you got some fantastic WRs to go with that collection of 2nd string RBs.

10 Team PPR league, 2 starting RBs with a short bench (4 players) ... do I drop my RB3 Mendenhall for JD?

Drafted Out of Character and Not Happy

I'd look into moving an extra RB (Ward or Rice) to get an upgrade at WR. Otherwise you look OK.

Bonehead Draft Pick Award At Your Draft?

Ray Rice in the 4th is a reach, but not bonehead. Bonehead is defined by my Yahoo 10 team PPR autodraft today: - NY Giants DST 2.6 - S. Gostkowski 4.5 - Baltimore DST 4.8 - Mason Crosby 5.2 - Kris Brown 5.5 - New England DST 5.10 Why there was a run on kickers in the 5th round of a 13 round draft I'll never know.

Where is Ray Rice being taken in your draft?

10 team PPR autodraft: Ray Rice 11.7 - one pick before I would have grabbed him. May still try to swap a surplus receiver (A. Gonzalez or Berrian) for him. I have to say I'm shocked how far he fell in this league.

    I traded Tomlinson...was it a good move?

LT is near the end of his career. Maybe he plays well this year, or maybe he gets hurt again, or loses one step too many. I got burned a few years ago using my #1 pick on Shaun Alexander after everyone was sure he had at least one more good year in him. Well he was D-O-N-E and he sunk my team. I would make the same trade you did in a second.

    10man vs 12man league

I like 14-team leagues the best! It makes you work a little harder to uncover the hidden gems of FF.

Owner Dropped Out Day Before Draft - HELP!

One year we were short a team due to a loser dropping out late ... we made a 12th team the "Average Dummies" whose score each week was just the average of the other 11 teams scores. It worked out as a simple fair way to address a crappy situation (better than having to manage the roster for a bogus team).

Bottom line...will Palmer play this year?

After what - ten weeks? - Palmer and the Bengals finally admits that he has an elbow injury. Even though I'm a Steeler fan, I'll be happy when that entire sh*tpile of the Bengals organization is cleaned out. Hopefully this season will be the impetus to do that.
