    Mr Guru re Tyreek Hill

I may be wrong but.....including preseason I think Hill is now 21/21 on targets from Mahomes. OBTW......dude can run routes and catch too.

Drafting for a league member not there...

Our league did this in 2005 secondary to Hurricane Katrina. Fairest way to do it is to alternate who picks for the absent player.......with priority given to those players that pick before the absent player in any given round.
  3. Drew Brees has a season for the ages....including his 2nd SB title......moving him into the discussion of the GOAT.
  4. According to the stat geeks over at Pro Football Focus he is top 3 among all TEs in their blocking rankings. In fact he was top 5 in almost all TE stats including # 1 in yds/catch I am a Saints' homer and am absolutely certain that his targets will not decrease one bit.

    Colston set to return

Not sure where to begin here. Well first of all I'm a homer. Secondly, Colston normally plays on the outside.......Lance Moore plays in the slot. Third, Wes Welker is certainly the best slot receiver in the league and one of the best alltime. Lastly, Colston has had like 6 or 7 knee surgeries over the of the last 4 years........not good. The cogs in the Saints' offense right now are Brees, Moore, Graham and Sproles. Colston along with Henderson, Meachem, PT and Ingram will get their touches but not on a consistent basis. Colston has had the major dropsies dating back to last season and unfortunately continuing through training camp this year. Brees won't tolerate that even from his former go to guy. On a side note...... In the 4th quarter of the Texans game Brees went no-huddle using an empty set with 5 receivers to choose from including Sproles. Honestly it was the scariest I have ever seen the Saints' offense........unstoppable.

Jerry Rice - that great oroverrated?

Or Newman vs. Mosconi in a game of nine ball...... Or Newman vs. Helmuth in a game no-limit holdem....... Or Newman vs Chestnut in an egg eating contest......

Jerry Rice - that great oroverrated?

Moss.....agreed. TO taking plays off? Not being physical? FAIL TO was one of the most physical WRs to ever play the game. Like Rice was a GREAT blocker. TO's an ass but that's no reason to just flat out make stuff up.

    Lance Moore...

The amazing thing is almost all of Moores pts came on one drive. Saints' went no huddle in the spread and Brees hit Moore on like 5 consecutive passes including a TD and a 2 pointer. I don't own Lance but had to laugh thinking of his owners cursing him all game and then Bam! 21 points on one drive. Earlier in the game you had a Sproles drive and also a Jimmy Graham drive......Brees is the absolute best.

Those Bengals at it again ... drug shipments

NFL Network to launch new product: The Panama Red-Zone Channel
  10. Gregg Williams finally has the personel to implicate his pressure defense. They are so deep at D-line that very good players will be cut. Secondary is awesome.........Greer, Porter, Jenkins and Harper if healthy are the best secondary in the league......yeah, I'm including the Eagles. They will be bringing it in preseason....as evidenced by last night.......regular season will be no different.........book it!

Saints D.... Yes they are for real

Just returning the bump from last week. :-) Yeah, I know this was not an elite receiving core they faced.....best RC is Forte and he got his. But they looked much better in pass rush and coverage today. Next week will be a true test......but I must now reiterate: Yes, the Saints D is for REAL!

    Brees Streak Watch

Drew Brees has the opportunity today to tie Dan Marino for 3rd on the alltime list for consecutive games with a TD pass. The alltime record is of course held by Johnny Unitas at 47. Favre is 2nd at 36 followed by Marino and Brees at 30 and 29 respectively. This is considered one of the most unbreakable records in all of sports. If Brees passes Marino and Favre in the upcoming weeks things could get very interesting.

    Brees Streak Watch

That's one. I expect Brees to be at 44 at the close of this season. I also expect him to be in the top ten alltime passing yards at the close of this season......will pass JKelley today.

Is it finally time to BENCH Stephen Davis?

I just STOLE Barry Sanders in the 15th round. Other idiot owners think he will stay retired. Ha Ha Ha.....fricken' morons.

    Grossman/Henne/Fitzpatrick

Actually, I thought the Giants pressured and hit Grossman plenty this past week.......and yet bad Rex didn't show up. In the short-term I like all 3 of these guys equally.......long-term I would lean toward Fitzpatrick>Henne>Grossman.

    For The First Time.......

Four of the all-time great FF/NFL players will not be suiting up on opening day: Peyton, Farve, TO and Moss. Very strange.

Saints D.... Yes they are for real

I did not base my assessment on the niners game.......I based it upon the fact that Saints D was good, albeit inconsistent, last year and made significant improvements in the offf season through the draft and free agency. I think you should temper your assessment of any defense these first 4 weeks of the season.......especially the ones with new personnel......a month was simply not enough time for teams to prepare for the regular season.
  18. Okay, I'm a long time Saints fan and I am more psyched about this season than any other. This game is HUGE for both teams to see just how they will stack up to great competition this year. With the very short offseason all NFL teams are still in evaluation mode. Apparently, the Pack have added beaucoup pages to their playbook....especially on offense. The Saints major changes are at D line (added Frankin, Rogers and the rook Jordan) and at RB (lost Bush, added Ingram and Sproles). I don't believe either team revealed much about their "true" offense or defensive schemes during preseason. These are 2 great QBs facing each other and IMHO this won't be the only time they face each other this season. Prediction: Saints 31-Pack 27 Let the games begin!!

Saints D.... Yes they are for real

Wow! guess I was wrong. Remarkably the Saints still had a shot to win the game. Now in all fairness the vaunted GB D was also shredded by Brees and company. Harper and PRobinson looked very bad though........guess I should stick to evaluating offensive talent.

New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers

I can't fault you for your choice......2 of the 5 most hyped RBs with no or little history. Both are against elite defenses. Personally I can't give you any insight.......however, I strongly believe that inside the ten....the two primary targets will be Ingram and Graham.
  21. Hoops

New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers

Have to address a few things: 1. The Defending SB champ Thursday Kickoff streak. Saints' have beat odds before......no team that ever lost their last 3 regular season games won the SB......until the Saints. 2. Will the Saints throw to Jimmy Graham? Uh yeah......Drew LOVES JGraham....his new AGates....believe DAT! 3. Hurt and non-starting RCs is about par for the course for the Saints......not a problem for Brees.

    Sit Ray Rice this week?

    3) NEVER bench Stephen Davis!
  23. I don't think there are any QB's outside of maybe Brees or Brady that could step in and run this offense. Colt's entire offense is predicated on rhythm and timing. It almost seems like they would have to completely simplify things to make Collins effective at all......which won't be close to the Colt's offense we are used to seeing.
  24. Yeah....average, or as our league called it "The A Team" is the way to go. BTW I will make the claim that our league invented this solution to the odd number problem.......first and only year we had to do it was 1988.
  25. It means that a. I am going with Rice with my # 1 pick. b. It will add additional amusement to the 28th installment of our league's draftday, and c. IMHO Foster is a major injury waiting to happen if indeed he plays at all this year. BTW.....my reference to it being a contract year for Foster.......he would be getting Fitz $$$ less than a year from now........he is in denial right now about the severity of his problem........can't blame him.......that is life changing money.
