    New High Stakes League

This is the last day to enter the main event and get your draft spot early (Aug 2) for those that like to know as far in advance as possible. You have both a live and online option for the main event, the only contest that I am aware of offering both for this size prize - $75,000. FFPC

    Article: New Crank?

And how do you know Addai and Jennings will be more consistent THIS year?

    Article: New Crank?

Of course this also depends on your scoring system. If total points come into play I really don't care how they score. And in a "best ball" format (or Draft Expert/Draft Champion) I want players that put up the big weeks.

I'll be most interested in seeing the next two parts and find out if this can be used to help predict this year.

Turner and Norwood to be used in tandem

Do you really think Atlanta will be leading in a lot of games to allow them to run by the 4th quarter?
  6. I agree with this, but even if I thought SOS had a significant affect I'd certainly not take last year's finish and assume nothing will change this year. His "analysis" is useless. As VaTerp said, you need to factor in changes to the team, tds allowed, players returning from injury, etc. Was the team improving as the year went on? Did the coaching staff change? ieatchickens also makes some very good points. I've always found SOS works much better after the first couple of weeks of the current season when you can see how they are doing THIS YEAR. Which is why I really don't factor it into draft strategy. I've always found Fabiano's rankings/analysis to be as bland as it gets, even when he was at Sportsline.

And I fail to see how that ability makes for a superior ff player over someone that, within the rules of a no-trading league, has success. I'd argue quite the contrary, as a great ff player doesn't need 3 weeks to see who he wants. Through a good draft, proper management of a limited free agent aquisition budget and smart lineup decisions I'd imagine you would find pretty good players. As the previous poster said, quite often trades are done with one party getting hosed. Is that skill? In any event trading is simply not a possibility in high-stakes leagues. So I'd disagree completely that trading makes for great ff managers. Great managers are successful by winning within the rules of the game they are playing. And Moz, losing two games in the wcoff (or ffpc or nffc) doesn't take you out of contention. Ultimately these are points leagues. If you have a powerful team that scores points you should make the playoffs and finish in the money. It's just that you won't be able to build them by trading.

This one filled. If anyone from this board joined, thanks. I was looking forward to drafting tomorrow night.

Why not just draft the team you want?

Really? I'm probably not smart enough to understand why, so could you explain it to me?

I've played all 6 years and I have to say there's nothing else like it. Walking into the draft room the first time and seeing, last year, over 1,000 players is quite the sight. Actually it's not a room, as there were 56 leagues drafting together in Vegas. Imagine walking in to a hall with 56 setups for drafting. It is, without a doubt, the premier event in fantasy football. It starts with the viewing party for the Thursday night opener and goes non-stop through Sunday. One of the best parts of the weekend is the people you'll meet. Every year you'll meet more, including some of the best fantasy players around. I personally don't use a laptop, and a cell phone is only needed if you have a co-manager back home. The ESPNZone party has always been worth it for me, but I know people that don't like it. But that's the spot to catch up with everyone that you've met in past years and I wouldn't miss it. The Sunday viewing party is nice if you don't want to get up early and fight for a spot at the Sportsbook. But that's not a huge draw for me. If you're up for it there's also a new high stakes league drafting in Vegas that Friday night which I talked about in the Find a League forum. If finances and time allow you won't be disappointed. You'll love it. Hope that helps and good luck this year.

    New High Stakes League

For anyone interested this league has a satellite draft scheduled for Tuesday, July 1 at 9 ET. It's $150 to enter and there are a few spots left. It's a Draft Experts format, meaning no in-season mangement. Perhaps you know it better as a best-ball format. Draft the team and each week your best lineup is automatically selected and there are no waiver moves. Draft it and sit back. Satellite League Plus, with me drafting in it you have one less team to worry about.
  13. There is a new high stakes league that has started this year, the FFPC, Fantasy Football Players Championship. I am not affiliated with the site in any way other than as a player and having known the owners for several years through another high stakes league (WCOFF). As players first they have designed the game to be as friendly as possible for the high stakes player. First and foremost, they have guaranteed the payouts by placing the funds in an attorney trust account. The payouts will be made to the winners as soon as the season ends. They have a dual-flex option for lineups, 1.5 ppr for tes, high payout percentages, action scoring, 4 teams per league go to the playoffs, and more. Perhaps one of the nicest options is the ability to participate in the main event online. No need to travel and you can compete for the top prize of $75,000. I’m not aware of any other high stakes league that has the online option for the main event. Add to that a wide selection of online satellite leagues with very reasonable entry fees and different formats for those that aren’t ready to jump in to the main league and they have something for everyone. You can check it out here - FFPC

    can someone help me out!

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you looking for an online game that has 1 ppr, or a site that can handle that scoring format (which would be virtually everyone)?

    McFadden

I don't know that it's so much their situations are different as that they are different. Peterson is a rb who happens to possess physical skills that aren't packaged together all that often. I view McFadden as a great athlete that plays rb - and qb, and split wide, and any other position that Kiffin may now come up with. How will that translate to the NFL and in particular, ff? I don't know for sure, but for those that think he's destined for stardom let me ask you something. How many great rbs have come into the league and the first thing the head caoch is talking about is how he can't wait to move him all over the field? You can talk all you want about creating mismatches and getting him in space and all the rest, but I think it says something about his shortcomings as a rb. I'm sure he'll have his share of highlight reel runs, but I think he'll go far too early in drafts for my liking. But that would be a good thing, right?
