  1. Ponyboy

    WDIS Brady or J Allen

Great game featuring 2 undefeated teams! I have both starting QB’s. Who’s the better QB option in this one, Tom Brady or Josh Allen?
  2. 4/4 straight up picks boys, not that last weekend was extremely difficult to predict…fine I was 2 out of 4 if you bet against the spread, KC and Arizona didn’t cover, whatever, I’m still great, shut it. This is a lengthy rant that is chock full of goodness, so prepare yourselves for the epic-ness that follows. That said, that Arizona Green Bay game was some seriously entertaining sh1t! I’ve never seen as crazy a finish as that in years! I knew Rodgers was gonna hit that hail-Mary! Then the OT coin flip thing. Then Palmer somehow hits Fitz uncovered in the open field and I’m all high off the Rodgers Hail-Mary then I’m yelling like “NOOOO!!! DON’T LET FITZ RUN FREEEEEEE IN THE OPEN FIELD!” 75 yards later they’re in scoring range. Shovel pass to Fitz for the TD to win. Wow. Damn, that’s some good football right there! Entertainin’ sh1zz, even if GB lost, least it was good. Other games went about as expected. NE looks like a juggernaut with no glaring weaknesses (Reid seriously bro, can you learn to manage a game clock after like 20 seasons?). Carolina looked pretty dominant then went to sleep in the second half. Denver barely got out of that game alive, the Steelers might have won with a bunch of backups if not for an untimely fumble by their 3rd string RB. So back to predicting winners, I’m not even gonna think too hard about my picks this week… NE (-3.0) @ DEN – This is being hyped as some sort of Brady vs. Manning bowl? Come on, Manning is all of a sudden going to become a clutch playoff QB against his nemesis? Am I hyped? No I am certainly not hyped after watching Manning derp his way to a lackluster win last week. He completed what, like 2 passes over 20 yards? Everything else was dink and dunk underneath. Manning’s passes were high, floaty and often off the mark. (Oh but he had 6 drops, so it’s not his fault!) He had 6 passes dropped because he was leading his receivers too much and too high. Manning did not pass the eye test for me, I don’t care what the stat line says. Manning’s arm is running on like 10% juice, and 90% willpower, it’s getting painful to watch him throw 10 yard floaters that feel like they have a 5 second hang time. Maybe under perfectly optimal conditions (Good pocket, time, gets his body into the throw) he can throw a decent spiral, but a lot of the time they look like dead ducks floating out of there. Defense and Field goals aren’t enough firepower to beat the Pats. NE cover and win, Eventually, your QB actually has to make a play in the playoffs to win the game, and Manning just can’t do it. Sportswriters might not be willing to hang him out to dry out of respect, but I am, he’s done, I haven’t seen him look remotely like a good playoff QB in a season and a half, and yes, I’m a huge Manning homer saying that. I predict we’ll be seeing a lot of Manning-face next week. You know the face... Anyway… Arizona @ Carolina (-3.0) – Arizona looked good on defense, but Palmer was off target on a lot of his throws, that’s a concern. In fact, Palmer looked really shaky to me, I think that finger is a big issue for him. The Panthers have a great defense, despite faltering a bit last week. I don’t think the cards have enough juice to get past Super-Cam at home. I think Carolina probably have the potential to bury Arizona, but then they have a good defense, so they may hang in there. I’d be really surprised if we’re not looking at a Patriots vs. Panthers Superbowl rematch. Then we find out if Cam is for real in the big dance. GET FOCKING HYPE cuz Super-Dabbing-Newton-Cam dethrones dreams for Beli/Brady 5 time Superbowl era! Hype boys, serious Hype. If this does turn out to be a Denver – Arizona Superbowl, I’ll be extremely surprised, I can guarantee you the league wants that Pats/Panthers matchup instead (Heisman top draft pick vs. 4 time Superbowl winner is way more marketable). Expect the refs to act accordingly to make this happen. J
  3. I am the commissioner of our league. Every year, our league holds its draft on the last Monday of August (in between weeks 3 and 4 of the preseason). The day before the draft, one league member suggested that the draft be moved until after the Tom Brady court decision had been issued. (It was known that the decision was coming some time that week, and it eventually came on Wednesday or Thursday.) I refused to move the draft, noting that it is held at the same time every year, and every year there are suspensions pending (Ray Rice, Josh Gordon, etc.). Tom Brady was drafted in the 10th round of our draft. A few days later, his suspension is lifted, and the guy that drafted him got a steal. The guy that asked me to move the draft is now furious. My position is that everyone had the same information at the draft. Anyone could have taken a chance on Brady - it all depends on your risk tolerance. Someone did, and got a steal. But 11 other teams had 9 or 10 chances to draft him before he was taken. What do you think? Should I have moved the draft?
  4. In a standard ESPN league, I was offered Brady for Forsett. My current QBs: Newton & Cutler My current RBs: McCoy, Bernard, Forsett, Vereen, Hillman I seem to have the depth at RB to do this. I'd like some predictability at QB, and was wondering if you thought Brady was a sufficient upgrade to my QBs. Which QB should I shop around (presuming I get Brady)?
  5. Picked up Ridley off waivers. Thinking about starting him, but I also have Brady and Gronk. Is that too many starters from one team? 10 Team PPR League QB: Tom Brady WR: Jordy Nelson WR: Cordarelle Patterson RB: Jamal Charles RB: DeMarco Murray TE: Rob Gronkowski WR/TE: Andre Johnson DEF: New England K: BN: Toby Gerhart BN: Steven Ridley BN: Terrance West BN: Donald Brown BN: Golden Tate BN: Kelvin Benjamin BN Sammy Watkins

    **** HELP ******

In Superbowl. I have Brady vs. Ravens ( in Baltimore ) or Cousins @ home. Vs. Cowboys ??? I wouldn't usually dream of benching Brady. But this has been a different season for him on a few different levels. I would really appreciate to hear from some fellow FFL players ( preferably ex- Champions, LOL ).
  8. Kind of a long winded post, just looking for some feedback on my choices for this upcoming week. .5 PPR League. Bonuses for TDs over 40 yards and for milestone yardages (300, 400 passing, 100, 200 rushing/receiving) QBs lose points per sack (-1) and incompletions (-0.1) and the usual for Int/Fum (-2) Brady or Dalton Brady was a nightmare there earlier in the season (Wk 5 -0.7 pts, Wk 7 1.4 pts, Wk 8 vs MIA 5.2 pts) but he turned it on enough recently to get me to the semi's putting up 24+ the last 3 weeks. Dalton has also had 3 stinkers this season, but also some really monster games, whereas Brady has only blown up once all year. Dalton has the completion pct and TD and rushing yardage edge, but has so many picks this year. ESPN has them projected about the same, FFToday has Dalton as the better play. Im leaning Dalton. The guy Im playing against is starting Edelman so starting Brady would help cancel out any of his points. Morris, Gerhart (assuming ADP is out), or Rainey Im starting Murray and Jennings, so I need one of these in the flex. Morris has the juicy match up with ATL allowing the 2nd most FF points to RBs over the past 5 weeks, but he's so inconsistent and frustrating. Does Cousins getting the start help or hurt him. Middle of the road match up for Gerhart. Rainey with 2 great games sandwiching 2 stinkers, playing the 49ers, he helped get me here, but I gotta think the 9ers bottle him up, right? Morris is in my lineup as of right now. Olsen, Pitta, or Tamme Been rolling with Olsen all year and while he's only had a couple bad games this year, he's been up 1 game, down 1 game, up 1, and so on. Last week he gets his most receptions of the year but one of his lower yardage totals. Not sure if that means he's due for an Up Game or a Down Game. Pitta looked good last week, but the sample size of 1 game, Im not sure if thats enough to go on to replace my season long starter. Tamme I think is interesting with Welker out. Im already playing Demaryius Thomas who torched SD last time whereas Welker did nothing against SD and its supposed to be Tamme taking Welker's slot role this week right? Ive still got Olsen starting, but really going back and forth about Pitta. Thanks for reading and for any input, leave your link and I will respond to yours.
  9. No pts for yardage until 250 (5 pt bonus). 1pt/10 yards after 250 has been reached. 6 pt short TDs up to 18 pt for very long TDs. Do you start Stafford or Brady, and what if Gronk or Megatron aren't playing? Also, if Gronk is in and Mega is out...or Mega is in and Gronk is out...any way you play the handicapped QB? Leave a link to yours.
  10. 12- team non-ppr. 6-Pt all TDs. Bonus for long TDs. Double points for TDs scored in the non-typical way for the position. (WR rushing/throwing TD, RB receiving/throwing TD, QB rushing/receiving TD) 5 pt bonus at 70 yards (or 250 yards for QB), then 1pt/10 yards thereafter. My current roster. Det TQB, Dal TQB MJD, Murray, Pierce, Tate Fitzgerald, Cobb, A. Brown, J. Gordon Graham, Cameron Crosby, Bullock Chicago DEF, NYG DEF Here's the trade... I get - Brady, Martin and Amendola (worthless?) I give - Romo, Murray, Fitzgerald. Can I get by with Brown or Gordon as my WR 2? Should I do this?
