Dan Sez 0 Posted January 22, 2005 We need to get all the team who did not finish in the playoffs to generate random dice rolls so we can set the specific draft positions in August. In the rules I stated we need to give this model three years to see how it works - changing each season in reaction to one or two misfortunate situations can do a lot of damage - please bear with me on this model. ---- We will determine the random rotation of the August draft as soon as the regular season is finished, giving more time for the teams to plan trades, etc. The purpose of the random rotation is to mix those middle teams (ones close to the cusp of the playoffs) into the higher picks just before the season starts. The teams who finish last in the previous season have already had Two league functions with preference - the March Waivers and the June Draft. The teams who qualify for the playoffs do not Rotate, they get the last four slots of all league functions. I am very interested in comments on this style of compensation. I was going to be a little more subtle and point out that one of the playoff knuckleheads seems to follow the instructions before finding out why he's doing so. But I guess I got beaten to it.
