What I don't get is that Shooter made his selection by hand (he didn't predraft...I think it's against his religion). If he bothered to check the draft board for two seconds, he would have seen that everyone after him had predrafted and the list ends when he picks again. So technically, he had two picks to make in a row. Apparently, he selected Elam and logged off.

In a league like this, before you select a kicker, don't you typically check whose been taken and how many picks you have coming up before taking the infamous "dime a dozen" position?

I had a feeling that he would let his 2nd pick sit until tomorrow morning. I would have bet money on it. Thinks he may strike gold if some starting RB should happen to OD overnight or slip in the shower and break a leg in the morning. God forbid we should complete more than one round in a day... :headbanger:

With everything predrated between his picks I figued he would get two picks done at this time also.

I was holding my breath ever since the Cedrick Wilson pick, although he has his risks, will he be a second or third, Gibson is a threat to make some noise according to Pitt homeys. With Hines Ward whining and attacting attention recently I figured I had to go Wilson first as Parker seemed way under the radar and Kennison went late. I was still amazed that Parker made it to my next pick, but very pleased.

Actually It was your Jets pick that sent me after Wilson and Parker as that was a tier break for me on D's

Of course not, hence my picking Vinatieri two rounds too soon. :o

I think you totally did the right thing in grabbing the #1 guy first. If you look at it based on value and what was out there, there isn't too much "steady production" players available. You went the safe route and took one of the only kickers worth jumping at early (Vinatieri; others being Akers and Vandy). They are good for near double-digits week in and week out. Others might finish the season close in total points, but you don't want someone that will get you 17 points one week and 2 the next. You want a guy capable of a 7-8 points in a bad week with the occassion double digit performance.

Now if you KEPT Vinatieri, or grabbed him before filling other needs, that might have been jumping the gun.
