Ahman Green done?

Ahman Green's quadriceps tendon injury c... Published Sun Oct 23 10:34:00 p.m. CT 2005

(Rotoworld) Ahman Green's quadriceps tendon injury could keep him out for the rest of the season.

Impact: The Green Bay Press-Gazette seemed to believe Green is done, already talking about Tony Fisher as a possible starter for the next ten games. It would be a cruel end to Green's miserable season, and quite possibly his career in Green Bay. He's a free agent after the season.

GB's season is over regardless of Green's status and he was likely already done as a Packer before the season started. So yeah, nothing new really.

Green, who hasn’t had a 100-yard rushing game since Nov. 14 against the Vikings and managed only 49 yards on 16 carries on Sunday, went down in the fourth quarter with the same quadriceps tendon injury he sustained on Oct. 3 at Carolina.

He missed the Oct. 9 game against New Orleans — the Packers’ lone victory of the season — and had the bye week to get healthy enough to return against the Vikings. Green was carted off the Metrodome turf and taken to the locker room. There were indications Sunday’s injury could be more serious.

Green’s injury might be of greater concern because a tear to the quadriceps tendon would be a season-ending — and perhaps career-damaging — injury. Former Packers defensive tackle Santana Dotson ruptured his quadriceps tendon and was never the same player.

“(Green) re-injured his quad tendon severely,” Packers coach Mike Sherman said. “We have to evaluate that when we get back and make a decision on that at some point tomorrow.”

Green and Ferguson were scheduled to undergo extensive examinations Monday. Ferguson said the initial diagnosis from team doctors didn’t include any torn ligaments, but that won’t be known for sure until he undergoes more tests.
