PushDaPile 0 Posted October 24, 2005 With an upcoming favorable schedule and key players coming back, notably his blocking FB, is K. Jones primed for a big 2nd half? How did he look yesterday with the bum shoulder in a harness?
dopenutt 0 Posted October 24, 2005 yet to break off a big run, but theres plenty of upside. even if garcia isnt a much better passer than harrington, hes much more mobile and if williams/rogers/williams can do anything at the wr position, jones should get his in the second half of the season.....might lose some goal line opps to garcia as he did in cle, however, but in the end it will help everyone. football_scooter 0 Posted October 24, 2005 the fact that Garcia can convert on 3rd down and get 1st downs is the biggest factor which will help KJones. But the thing that killed him yesterday was the number of times they passed on 1st down. And then, naturally on 4th and goal, when KJ was pounding out 3 per carry for 3 carries prior, Captain Bootleg Garcia rolls out to vulture the TD - so there's two ways Garcia will hurt KJ. But as mentioned - he looked pretty good out there and converting 3rd downs means keeping drives alive. Keeping drives alive means more carries for KJ. More carries means more chances to break a big one.
dreadlocks34 0 Posted October 24, 2005 Schedule will also be very helpful for him.
kwhiz73 0 Posted October 24, 2005 Good point from scooter on the lions completing more first downs; therefore, more carries from KJ. He's played some hellish d's so far this year and has one more to go next weekend vs Chicago. After that I expect him to break out for some great games. The lions time of possession during the Clevend game was dominating. 37:17 to 22:43. If that continues to be the case---KJ will do his share.
