Julie Jones: The new fragile Fred?

Recommended Posts

After Jones misses this Sunday he will have missed 12 games in a season and a half. Not good for a #1 RB.

Do you think the TUNA is going to give Barber a good look at the starting job given the fact that Julie is so brittle?

yea, Julius Jones is a huge bust and will probably end up losing his starting job to Barber once he recovers from his ankle sprain :wall:

Julius Jones is an absolute bum :o

Bluntly asked if Jones was tough enough, Parcells responded: "Yes." But on Monday, Parcells hinted he may be worried about Jones, who the Cowboys drafted in the second round from Notre Dame last season in hopes of becoming their featured back for the long haul. "He trains hard. I think he's a good RB," Parcells said. "But part of it is durability. That's the second critical factor for that position. Besides vision and instincts, that's the 2nd critical factor. I'm not saying he's not durable. "But I am concerned because next Sunday, if he misses that game, it'll be 11? games he's missed out of 24. You got to be a little concerned."

The freaking guy broke a collerbone last year (that's a minor injury) and a high ankle sprain. A "high" ankle sprain is named because the injury is above the level of the joint. It is a tearing of the syndesmotic ligaments of the tibia and fibula bones. It is different from a typical sprain because it is more severe, takes much longer to heal and may rarely require surgery early in the treatment course. Parcells called JJ out last year too and he responded when he came back (alot of people felt he was done for the year last year). He'll do the same this year.

Too early to call Jones a bust, but it's frustrating for people who've owned him the last two years.

That is an insult to Taylor. At least Taylor has had some record of sustained success. Besides a few lucky, meaningless games last year, what hs Jones done? That kid is a bust and may not even be a starter next season!

The problem isn't that...

It's when will he recover and be 100%- nobody knows?

How long will he stay healthy after given the starting job?

The dude has proven time and again that he can't stay healthy...

The bottom line is that Julie is having a hard time staying on the field. Much like TJ had in his first 4 years.
