Is there any chance Julius Jones....

Recommended Posts

A high ankle sprain usually requires surgery or rest of 4-6 months. See Jamal Lewis, Priest Holmes last year. It is a tearing of tendons that don't heal quickly. I know no one is saying that now but Lewis and Holmes went for a couple weeks last year with the same thing. Just a thought.

There's always that chance with any serious injury.

I added Barber in one league just in case. I think it's more likely to hamper him than require surgery - it is also fairly easy to re-injur a high ankle sprain from what I understand.

Ihope he can come back soon - I have him in my IDP league, and while he's not the best player on my team, he is a player I was hoping would be there for me down the stretch.

People need to stop panicking. He will be back after the bye better than ever. Douche MCSuckister only took two weeks to heal from the same injury last year.

He has no tears in the ankle, which was reported the Monday after the injury, when he had his MRI. It is NOT Jones say wether he can play or not, it is the trainers and doctors decision. If they say no, he can't go. Protection of the investment....

The kid is tough, and the team is one dimensional when he does not play.

For what possible reason would they do this? They are already saying that on a weekly basis that he is out, meaning teams can gameplan for him NOT being in there.

Even if he comes back he won't be the same. Like I said high ankle sprains take a long time to heal.

Prediction: Barber takes over an excels then Julius is battling for his job next year.

I had a high ankle sprain playing JUCO basketball. Hurt like hell. It's bad when you intend to come down flat on your foot and your ankle is the first thing to hit the court after stepping on soeone elses foot. The doctor told me I would have been better off breaking it. I was up for 4 weeks. And didn't come back full strength until after the 5th week sometime. I came back stronger than before my injury. Could actually jump higher. Probably had to do with the rest I received. ANyway, that's my high anke sprain story. Just an FYI on how these work.

From what I heard Parcells say this week he is not pleased with JJ because of the injuries as has been stated in this thread several times. He has missed 1/2 his games in a short NFL career. When did the NFL not become here today, gone tomorrow? JJ has competition at this position and with the up and down play of the boys Parcells is not going to be sticking his kneck out. If he gets stability at RB from Barber then JJ will be riding pine hard. After all it is Parcells.

The guy broke his shoulder blade last year and missed like 11-12 games. That's not exactly what I'd call an injury that you play through.

The high ankle sprain is one you may be able to play through. Two weeks seems to be the minimum amount of time to miss. (See Duece). I'd say there would be a much greater chance of JJ playing this week if it weren't for the Cowboys' bye next week. Sit him one week, get two weeks to heal.

IMO Parcells is extremely high on JJ. If you have seen any of his presser's you'd know it to be true as well. Having said that, he may be gaining confidence in M Barber, enough anyway to use him as the primary backup.
