bkbergen 1 Posted October 28, 2005 Started doing it this year. Only one year in advance is allowed. Teams trading their pick must put down a deposit for next year so they do not screw the league or a new member coming in .
Wildman 0 Posted October 28, 2005 It's a good practice for encouraging league activity and another way to build a team. Some leagues get carried away with it (guys somehow acquiring the 7 of the first 10 picks by trashing their season), but if you structure your rules well enough, this won't likely happen. waxg 3 Posted October 28, 2005 do you do it or not? yes. just went to a keeper system (not dynasty) this past year so we just started trading picks last year. A team went 0-14 last year. They ended up trading Chad Johnson (who had been a relative bust up to that point in the season) for a 6th rounder. The rules for this are as follows. The team giving up the 6th rounder had to get a last round pick in return to keep draft pick number equal (in our league this was the 22nd round). Also the team giving up Chad had to give the other team a mediocre receiver for them to start.. Today a team that is 0-5-1 traded Hines Ward and a garbage backup RB (Kerry Carter) and a 22nd round pick to a team that is 7-0 for Stokely, Washington D and a 6th round pick. We like to encourage trading... we have a 3 member approval committee that must approve all trades, but we like to approve almost anything so long as there is no collusion involved.
