Mr. Landry Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Terrell Owens To Sign With Cowboys 3/16/2006 Sources within the Dallas Cowboys have told the KLBK-13 Sports Department that the Cowboys have signed wide receiver Terrell Owens. Terms of his contract have not been disclosed. The Cowboys plan to announce the signing of Owens officially in a press conference on Monday. Owens was ran out of Philadelphia after bad-mouthing the Eagles organization and quarterback Donovan McNabb last season. Owens is also remembered for taunting the Dallas Cowboys and its fans on the "Texas Stadium Star" while he was a member of the San Francisco 49ers a few years ago. http://www.klbk.com (Thanks to our buddies at FBG) Quote

eefflrat Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Is this legit? Report is bogus From PFT POSTED 10:08 p.m. EST, March 16, 2006 REPORT OF T.O. SIGNING IS "BOGUS" Reports originating from a Lubbock, Texas television station that receiver Terrell Owens has signed with the Cowboys are "bogus," a league source with knowledge of the situation tells us. KLBK 13 says that sources with the Cowboys have told the station that Owens already has been signed, and that the move will be announced on Monday. On one hand, we could envision the Cowboys intentionally leaking misinformation in order to scare off other potential suitors while owner Jerry Jones wraps up a vacation. On the other hand, why in the hell would the leak be made to a television station in Lubbock? Bottom line -- there's no deal, and the reports are erroneous. Quote
Savage Beast Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Is this legit? I hope it is legit. I can't wait to see TO run to the middle of the field in Philly after scoring a TD on them and spike the ball on the painted eagle. Quote

Savage Beast Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 This assumes that Bledsoe can get him the ball. Bledsoe was a top 10 TD QB last season, so he will get TO plenty of TD's if TO signs with Dallas. Quote
mggoilers Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Just one more reason to hate the Cowboys. I hope T.O. and fat a$$ tuna butt heads early on. It's a false story...nice team in your sig. Great Attitude...T.O.?... You seem angry. Quote
birdbrain3X Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Bledsoe was a top 10 TD QB last season, so he will get TO plenty of TD's if TO signs with Dallas. Do you really like Bledsoe that much or are you just a faithful Cowboy backer. If T.O. becomes a Cowboy, just wait until Bledsoe overthrows him or misses him in the endzone. If you think Keyshawns fit last year was bad wait until you see Terrell in action. Quote

Vikings4ever Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Cowboys | Report - Owens agrees to three-year deal with Dallas Thu, 16 Mar 2006 20:55:47 -0800 Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, free agent WR Terrell Owens' (Eagles) agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has denied a report from KLBK-13 CBS TV in Lubbock, Texas, that Owens has agreed to a deal with the Dallas Cowboys. While Rosenhaus is denying the report, a source close to Owens has confirmed to FOXSports.com that Owens has agreed to a three-year deal and it will not be announced until the coming days. Quote
Wildman Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 If Keyshawn stayed, this would have been the all-miscreant receiving corps between Johnson, Owens, and Glenn. I can imagine Owens mouthing off about this team when Bledsoe throws more to Glenn than Owens in a game they lose... Despite my initial cynicism, it's probably a good fit. Between Jones and Parcells they probably have a good plan in place to make it clear that T.O. cannot pull the same crap he did in the last 4 years of his career. They also offer T.O. the incentive to face the Eagles twice a year. But I do wonder how Cowboys fans will feel when Owens makes his way to the 50-yard line after his first score in Irving Stadium... ROBOKOP Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 My point is do not post information as fact when it is based upon a vague rumor. A better headline to your post could have been "Rumor: TO to sign with Dallas soon." Either that or you could have clarified things by looking at the multiple posts on the subject on where the rumor originated and that it was claimed to been false. Quote

That is the typical egocentric thing that Jerry Jones would have to do... Quote

He cited a source and the source wasn't ambiguous on the matter. They said TO was signed.....it was a Texas media outlet...not some internet blogger. At the time this was posted, there was nothing contrary on the subject and then later Fox Sports also stated the signing to be true (see above). This poster did nothing wrong. Quote

D'ohmer Simpson Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Bledsoe will be Bledsoe, he will be the league MVP over the first 8 games then he will disappear from existance for the final 8 Ouch. At least McNabb gave TO one full season. Only 8 games isn't not going to be good for TO. Not good at all. Good luck with all that, Dallas. Assuming he does sign with them. Quote

Actually the point wasn't that he posted a "rumor"....people do that all time and this TO story was hardly breaking news at that point. EVERYONE was reporting that Dallas was the clear front runner to sign TO. The issue is that he came in with this " Joe Bryant at Football Gays says that......" like Bryant or any of those other dorks have any "inside" information that the rest of us don't. If he just said, Rumor is TO is going to Dallas, no problem but when you start butt kissing a clown like Bryant and saying it is confirmed because of his "inside information", people are going to call you on it. Peace..... Quote
Deadpool Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Good luck with all that, Dallas. Assuming he does sign with them. Well, I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't have cut Keyshawn unless they were going to sign him. Unless of course you thought Dallas was trying to sign Jabaar Gaffney instead? Quote

dcOne Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Just one more reason to hate the Cowboys. I hope T.O. and fat a$$ tuna butt heads early on. Yeah, because Jones, Owens and the Dallas Cowboys affect your daily operations so much, that you just have to find time and energy to hate them. Quote

It's easy for people to hate on the greatest NFL franchise of all time. And the Cowboys have their record number of Super Bowl trophies and Super Bowl trips to back it up. Quote

ROCKET Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I don't hate the Cowboys organization, just their legions of bandwagon fans who have no affiliation to Texas. TD Ryan2 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Is the DAL fanbase happy about this signing? I guess if my team signed him, I'd be hopeful but nervous... hopeful that he produced but nervous about how much crap he causes. Quote
miket7 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 TO = Cowboys Perfect fit. I just wish they would have kept Keyshawn, so they could spend the whole season fighting. Quote

Oh that's right, you're the lifelong Cowboys fan from Jersey, Cali or (fill in any local here) ?. Carry on. The reason you do not see near as much Cowboys gear as you used to several years ago, is because of the Cowboy's stupid JC Penny exclusive contract. The only place you can buy Cowboy's gear in retail stores now is at a JC Penny's store, and most of their stores outside of Texas do not carry Cowboys gear at all WTF..??? So you can not walk into your local mall and buy Cowboys gear any longer, and that is why it is so scarce these days, not because of bandwagon behavior. Quote
