I first read about the Westboro Baptist Church a few months back in the Chicago Sun-Times. A group was planning to protest at the funeral, in Naperville, IL, of a soldier killed in Iraq. I wanted to go and throw water balloons at these people with a co-worker but never got the chance to do so. This morning I read about them again in the Detroit Free Press. These whackjobs just protested the funeral of a fallen soldier in Grand Ledge, MI. Both articles made me angry but both of them never mentioned the website. Had they done so I would have known not to take these seriously. Just give the site a read. They are obviously full of hate or insane. It's amazing that anyone could be sucked into a church like this. Their rational is that the United States defends fags so these soldiers deserve to die. Funny, I wonder if they've ever read the parts in the bible about turning the other cheek and loving your enemies. Free Press Article Quote
