OrangeSoda 2 Posted April 6, 2006 I was currious to see a few things... 1) how is mark clayton being percived, will he pass mason and become the #1 WR, I think he has great potential. 2) I have heard 2 different stories on the QB situation, option a) Kerry Collins option Steve MCNair is there any possibility of ither one starting for the ravens? ravenz20 0 Posted April 6, 2006 i will try to add some insight for you 1.) he will not surpass mason as the #1(this year) He has a ton of talent and improved over the last few games of last year. He is exciting to watch and will definately be apart of their offense for many years. Mason is just simply more polished and more dependable right now especially for a young and struggling Boller. 2.) I listen to the local sports talk everyday here in Baltimore. It seems that the ravens first choice is Mcnair. They might be forced to wait till after the draft to see if the titans draft a qb early. By then Collins might be signed by another team, although I dont see any teams interested. I have heard people close to the organization speculate that there is a "hand shake deal" between collins and the ravens(no link, just rumor) I do think that one of them will be in purple next season. hopefully mcnair As a raven fan i am just praying that collins doesnt sign with another team then the titans keep mcnair

Here are my thoughts: 1) Clayton looks to have a solid year. Off the top of my head I think he may have had better numbers than Mason in the second half of the season. Check that though. Mason will still be the #1 WR but who gets better stats depends on...... 2) If McNair is cut Ozzie will jump him as he leaves his house and drag him back to Baltimore. They will make a BIG push to sign him. If for some reason they can't they will likely sign Collins. If it's McNair he becomes the immediate starter. This is good and bod. Good because he'll be working with Mason again and you'll see Mason's stats rise. Bad because behind the Raven's porus Oline McNair won't last more than 3 games to start the season and then play off and on after that. If it's Collins he should start as well, but he didn't look great in OAK last year so he may have a shorter leash. He's not as injury prone as McNair so he'll probably make it to game 6 before he misses time. 3) I'll add this one to your list. The bigger issue is will the Oline improve. The Ravens made NO moves to improve this group in FA and have said they expect their young players to step up. If they do, you could see passing stats improve across the board. If they don't.......well, you've seen that before. Hope this helps! 5by5
OrangeSoda 2 Posted April 6, 2006 The Mcnair to mason scares me...as i agreee it will be mostly mason deep and Heap as the possesion guy. I have Claytion for $1 in my auction league, he will cost me $11 to keep this year, but I just have gut feeling he could be a poor mans TO. I would love to keep him and watch him be the next superstar?
