Why isn't Jerrious Norwood being mentioned in draft?

Recommended Posts

Yes I'm a Mississippi State Graduate but the guy ran for over 1000+ yards each season in the SEC against incredible defenses like Bama and so forth, and his team was the worst. He had the best 40 time at the combine with a 4.40 forty and I'm telling ya he is awesome. He single handedly beat the Gators 200+ yards(brother in law went to hostpital when goalposts came crashing down on his forehead) and kept the Bulldogs alive in most games. He's capabable of breaking tackles, making guys miss behing the line, and taking it to the house! I haven't heard his name mentioned much at all. I do believe he's a legitimate NFl back but not sure what round he'll be drafted in. Good luck Norwood!

Anyone else have an opinion?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Denver Broncos are showing some interest in Mississippi State RB Jerious Norwood.

I've seen the kid play and agree he is good. A 40 time isn't everything though. If I remember correctly, didn't he time slow in the cone drills? I remember reading about him on the tailgate fantasy football website. It was either the cone drills or the first ten yards of his 40 that were timed slow. Both show your "pop" or "hit the hole" speed. It doesn't matter how great your 40 time is if you hit the hole slowly.

Are you sure he ran a 4 flat forty at the combine? I have a membershit to Stevensons Scouting Services and don't remember reading anything about him being in the top 5. Bush has the top overall 40 for a running back with Lewis, Williams, and Addai right behind him.

I think Addai could be the sleeper of the running backs. Great pop and shiftiness. He could be a steal as a situational player. He is being mentioned as a third rounder, but I bet he goes in the mid to late second. A team knowing he won't be there in the late third will nab him.

Norwood ran a 4.4-40 and he is a great open field runner with nice vision. He hasn't proven he's a tough runner between the tackles. There are certain things about his game that are very exciting to watch, and he's going to be a popular sleeper. He'll be a first day pick IMO, but I didn't think he was a consistently effective, inside runner.

He's a great returnman. There are a ton of great returnmen in this draft:

Willie Reid

Norwood

Hester

Moss

B. Williams

Bush

Holmes

D. Williams

I agree he's a good player, but he didn't run a 4.0. The fastest 40 time at the combine was Clemson's Tye Hill and he ran a 4.20 if I'm not mistaken.

Don't forget Jeremy Bloom as well...

I predict the Patriots will land him in the 3rd with the potential to be a stud next year

He tore it up in college behind a very poor line. He has a very good chance to be a productive runner if he lands in the right place. New England would be nice as stated above.

Thanks! Once he gets into football shape, he has excellent speed.

Guest Mr.T
Kriwan's recent mock on nfl.com has him going in the 2nd (62nd overall) to Indy. I think he's being shown plenty of respect.

Was going to post the same thing. :bench:
