the non-1st-round QBs

Recommended Posts

Clemens, Kellen 6-2 223 Oregon 2 49 N.Y. Jets

Jackson, Tarvaris 6-2 225 Alabama State 2 64 Minnesota

Whitehurst, Charlie 6-5 222 Clemson 3 81 San Diego

Croyle, Brodie 6-3 204 Alabama 3 85 Kansas City

Martin, Ingle 6-2 219 Furman 5 148 Green Bay

Jacobs, Omar 6-4 233 Bowling Green 5 164 Pittsburgh

still available:

Hackney, Darrell 6-0 238 Alabama-Birmingham

McNeal, Reggie 6-2 197 Texas A&M

Meyer, Erik 6-1 209 Eastern Washington

Nealy, Barrick 6-4 227 Texas State

Pinegar, Paul 6-5 231 Fresno State

Shockley, D.J. 6-1 213 Georgia

Vick, Marcus 6-0 201 Virginia Tech

I think Croyle, Martin, and Jacobs were excellent value. Green Bay in particular needed at legit #3 immediately (#2 next year) and I think they got it with Martin. Croyle could starter after old man Green retires (if Croyle can stay healthy), and Jacobs should have little trouble winning the #2 job behind Big Ben, not bad for a 5th-rounder.

I'm a little surprised Clemens' stock rose so much. I think the Jets could have done better in round 2 after they had a great round 1 with two instant starters on the OL. I think Whitehurst could have benefitted from going to a better offensive coaching staff than San Diego. The Jackson pick by Minnesota surprised me.

I'd add Gradkowski. After the big three, I'm partial to Clemens and Gradkowski. Which is a way of saying its a weak QB class.

Shockley should get drafted, too. Probably the last round.

Big fan of Ingle Martin. He's got the tools, and McCarthy has a decent track record with QBs. I like the way it lines up if Favre hangs it up soon.

McNeal is being brought on board as an athlete, to make the switch to WR like a Randle El.

Ingle is a good player.

I can't believe the Falcons drafted Shockley -- talk about letting your fanbase control your pick. :P I guess it'll make the natives happy for a few months until they cut him.

im sorry, but i dont think martin will be a impact player at the next level..ever.. i watched this guy stink up the field at UF, choking everytime a clutch play was needed. the guy is not a guy that u want when the game is on the line.. he gets scared...not good for an nfl player...hes got far to go..
