swamp dog 0 Posted May 1, 2006 not sure people thought the twins would suck. it's a combination of them getting off to a slow start and the tigers being a little better than people thought. vikings first pick was okay...don't know what happened to them in the 2nd. the qb reach--and the cost to get him--was the main culprit. Fall in love with a guy and get spooked by as little as one team into trading up to get a guy very few other teams had interest in. Thankfully Green Bay now has a Ron Wolf disciple who is flexible enough and organized to allow for trading down, accumualting picks, and still get guys they were targeting. (ex. Hodge in round 3 when they considered him in the 2nd, and Colledge later in round 2 when they would have been happy to select him at #36) Going from 7 picks to 12 and still gettting the quality guys they got was amazing to watch unfold. And 12 chances to strike gold is no doubt much better than 7. Sherman probably would have wound up turning 7 picks into 5 or 6. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

You know the kind. The guy that had to take the hip happening rookie sensation in the first round. The sensation that isn't scheduled to start and never actual amounts o anything. Well, apparantly this guy who embellished his resume is the scapegoat for the new regime BTW, I would have prefferred they had fire Childress. I am not too impressed by this guy yet.
