OrangeSoda 2 Posted May 10, 2006 It seems as if they have been in the market for every player... From what I recall they have been mentioned to aquire or try to aquire the following list.... Daunte Culpepper Joey Harrington Josh McCown TO Javon walker Eric moulds Michael Bennett Edge Ashley lelie Travis Henry Sammy morris frank murphy Ty Law Lavar aarrington Kyle Turley Marcus Vick Micheal Lehan Az hakim Note to nick saban......there is a thing called a salary cap? Is it just me or are they in the news way too much as a "Potential landing spot" for everyone and their grandmother?
Zackattack 0 Posted May 10, 2006 So our team is exploring all options and trying to get any good talent at the right price. Why be so bitter? You must be a Jets fan. If I was Saban I would explore all options too.
G3-175SE 0 Posted May 10, 2006 It seems as if they have been in the market for every player... Is it just me or are they in the news way too much as a "Potential landing spot" for everyone and their grandmother? And that is a BAD thing? Seems to me if everyone is looking to "potentially" play in Miami than they are considered a serious contender. I think that is a good thing. This is by far the most excited I have been about an upcoming season since Marino retired. Last year was great but didn't know what to expect. With Culpepper (evidently) going to be our QB we will finally have a real starting QB, not a backup starting QB. Maybe it bothers you but I think Saban needs to look at anyone that can help our team win. If they can sign them and stay under cap what is the problem. Go Dolphins! Yeah, sounds like a Jets fan. We do pity you and your team.
tastes like chicken 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Saban was definitely interested in some of those guys, but I think most of them wanted to come to south beach and initiated the interest themselves.
OrangeSoda 2 Posted May 10, 2006 No, I am no jets fan....infact i hate the jets...my best friend is a jets fan and we fight constantly.... I just think that Miami ought to be careful other wise they will take over the title of "The NFLs Yankee's" from the redskins. To be honest I like some of the offseason moves.....I just can't stand reading Rotoworld.com or Watching NFL network, and hear adam shefter spout the words Nick Saban or miami is a potential landing spot. If they want to be a SB contender, there are other ways of doing it besides buying it! And for the record, It rarely works in Football to buy a championship! Ruphus 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Well, for starters, it isn't just Miami and Nick Saban that is bringing all these players in. Miami is an up and coming team with a valued history, even when they had sh*t Qb's like Fiedler and Feeley, they have always been a "threat" to reach the playoffs. Players want to play in florida, it isn't as much to do with Miami, but Miami is a team that is getting better and better. But if you were a football player, where would you want to play? In the freezing northlands of Green Bay, or sunny south Florida? Also, keep in mind that Miami typically is one of the better off teams on a yearly basis in terms of salary cap, and they are typically known as a team willing to give guys a 2nd shot, even if they have done some not-so-good things off the field (Vick, Owens, Ricky Williams come to mind here). Personally though, if I was a head coach, I would bring in every single focking player I could, every year. I don't HAVE to sign them..... When you go to buy a new car, do you just go to the Ford dealership and buy the one car you wanted, in the one color you wanted, or do you go test drive each model, make, year and even go as far as.... gasp.... test driving other company's makes and models? ratbastard1 0 Posted May 10, 2006 And when you actually buy that car dont you all of a sudden recognise it more on the streets? Miami isnt being that much crazier this offseason than 1/2 the rest of the league, your just seeing more movement than previous years.
Savage Beast 1 Posted May 10, 2006 So our team is exploring all options and trying to get any good talent at the right price. This does not describe Bennett . Bennett=

Dr. Octopus 0 Posted May 10, 2006 With Culpepper (evidently) going to be our QB we will finally have a real starting QB in late October, early November after Joey Harrington leads us to a 2-6 record... I'd be real excited as well.
