phillybear 366 Posted June 15, 2006 We have had some turnover from our squad last year, and need to fill 3 slots. It's a free league. No money involved. Last year was a rousing success as we swept all the categories: best combined record, overall points scored, and more importantly, had an all FFToday final where Ainsley beat out phillybear for the title. But time marches on, and change is inevitable. And our team of Ainsley, Monkeyman8, Frybry84, and phillybear is regrettably no longer intact. Last year, our members competed vs Fantasy Sports Wire, The Huddle, and Sports Outlaw members. This year, the participating members come from the sites of FFToday, FFLiveWire, The Huddle, and Fantasy Sports Wire. The league is a 16 team redraft, 4 members from each site, one member per division. To make the playoffs, you have to win your division. You don't face members of your site during the regular season. You start 1,1,3,1,1,1 and a flex. The draft takes place near the end of summer, with a timer of several hours between picks. Here is a link to the site, with rules, etc. Link to league site Trades are rare, so a smart draft and taking advantage of the blind waiver process are key. Although the InterBoardLeague gets most of the attention around here, this is something that takes dedication and pride and a labor of love. If you suffer through a bad draft or have a ton of injuries, you cannot give up. You have to stay active to the end, because your teammates are counting on you to help with the overall record and points scored. Those interested, email me at vwlasenko@comcast.net as it looks like I am leading this team this year. If you would like to include a short paragraph on why you want to join the team, what you bring to the table, like a mini resume, that would be fine, but not required. It won't necessarily be based on first come first serve, or post count, but a sense that you will try to help FFToday defend their title. We will try to be as fair as possible. And I may be bumping this from time to time. Thanks for your time.
Ainsley 0 Posted June 15, 2006 I endorse this league and believe that it is highly underrated, living in the shadow of the IBL. I appreciate phillybear taking over the FFToday contingent and wish you guys the best of luck. I've decided to move on, as I am no longer the frequent poster here that I once was, but I believe FFToday, with its talented geeks, will be a force despite who comprises the contingency. Best of luck to you, FFToday! phillybear, if you have any questions, you have my contact info.

phillybear 366 Posted June 15, 2006 Who is the returning squad? Officially, just me so far. We probably have another slot filled. That leaves two openings.

phillybear 366 Posted June 15, 2006 hey phillybear - do you know when the draft is? I might be interested in this. It's a slow draft format. Last year, it started August 17 and lasted until Sept 4th. Up to 12 hours are given to make a pick. Predrafting is allowed. I'll take a spot I'll put you on the candidate list. I'll see who steps up through Sunday, and fill the final slots by Monday. Thanks for volunteering.

texasmouth 1 Posted June 16, 2006 Phillybear, I would like a spot if you think I am worthy. I can send you my lengthy FF resume if you like. I have over 5K posts here, I think that validates the fact that I dont have a life and would dedicate myself to winning this sucker. Muchas Gracius. Let Da Big Dog Eat 40 Posted June 16, 2006 I am a FF addict. If you want someone who is educated, opinionated and active, I am in. For a resume, just look at my posts. I would LOVE to win this SB.
Kilroy 0 Posted June 16, 2006 Now that I know there's a 12 hour limit between the picks, I think I could participate. I'll throw my name in the hat.
phillybear 366 Posted June 17, 2006 I just wanted to express my thanks for the quality candidates that have volunteered their services for this league. The decision making process will be difficult. It will likely end up in a pick from a hat scenario. FFToday should be proud with the quality of volunteers. I have a feeling that we will kick some ass again this year.
