Parja 0 Posted July 8, 2006 Dennis Miller on MNF???? Didn't impress me much. He was the color commentator. That's hardly an "Expert". I thought he was funny. A lot of his jokes were over the heads of your average MNF viewer, though.

remote controller 143 Posted July 8, 2006 I used to be a big fan of his "inside" info, but now he is taking his "professor" label too far, John Clayton. .................and his contrived arguements, or disagreements with Salsbury are over the top. Salsbury comes off like a scholl yard bully and Clayton the nerdy wimp he really is.

Jay 0 Posted July 8, 2006 Michael Irvin. I hope he's there for his "colorful" personality, because I've never heard any quality in his football analysis. Most annoying for me is probably Theisman.

MahSoonerz 0 Posted July 9, 2006 For real football, Irvin hands down. What an up sucking clown. They only keep him around because a lot of the prima donnas of the league wouldn't give anybody else a interview. For FF, I will never forget where I was when I heard Suzy Kolber say she was drafting for the intangibles in last year's ESPN mock. (iirc, she took Farve and Jamal Lewis 1 & 2). gemynd 0 Posted July 9, 2006 Salisbury is certainly one of the most anoying, but listening to Michael Irvin - I cannot believe that he actually played the game he is commenting on.
mgs316 14 Posted July 9, 2006 Michael Irvin should be eliminated from exsistance. Plus they way he grabs everyone's arm while talking, just like Uncle Leo, so they can't get away from him. On the flip side, Marino though supposedly stupid seems to know the game very well. His pick record usually kills the rest of the hosts on the shows. But what do you expect from the great Dan Marino. Mack 1 6 Posted July 9, 2006 Cris Collinsworth. That guy just annoys me and he's going to be back in the booth this year. Cuse9 129 Posted July 9, 2006 Merril Hodge without a doubt! "Hey Merril what is the correct way to catch a football?" Merril replies "The key to catching a football is a good running game." "Hey Merrill I'm having problems with my marriage?" Merrill replies "The key to a good marriage is a good running game." No matter what the question is....Merrill bellows out about how important it is to have a great running game....yes Merrill we know running the ball is important, but we also know there is more to a game than just running the ball!!!! I quit watching anything he's on....annoys the chit out of me.

uubeee 0 Posted July 10, 2006 I'm sure I'll get flammed for this.... But I'll go with at least 50% of this bored. If you don't draft RB RB RB you are considered a moron here and unworthy of FF. If you should choose a different strategy based on the scoring situation of your league, you are considered a moron and unworthy of FF. To the other 50% ( and you know who you are). Keep of the good work.

If you should choose a different strategy based on the scoring situation of your league, you are considered a moron and unworthy of FF. To the other 50% ( and you know who you are). Keep of the good work. Actually, I think some seasons are good for either philosophy. This season, I happen to think it favors going RB-WR-RB-RB, in many drafts I've seen/been part of so far. There's just not as much depth at the RB position, and there are great options to stack up on in the 3rd and 4th like Benson, Addai and DWilliams. Bell's another who comes to mind. Couple years ago I had a lot of success taking RB-RB-RB, but I am not sure it would work this year. Of course it all depends on how competitive your respective leagues are and who's available when you pick. I say take the best player available, but include positional rarity. If you're forced to choose between the 23rd best RB and the 14th best receiver, to me that's a no brainer. Bue hey, what do I know.

Most annoying for me is probably Theisman. Great pick. This guy is a focking fool and it's an insult to fans everywhere to force us to listen to this mushmouth. His best work....as an inmate in The Longest Yard. Cris Collinsworth. That guy just annoys me and he's going to be back in the booth this year. I agree that he can be annoying, but I think he's very knowledgeable. Sean Salisbury, anytime he opens his mouth! Salisbury doesn't bother me. Also, I've heard his name mentioned by many 'experts' as a possible up and coming commentator.
Let Da Big Dog Eat 40 Posted July 10, 2006 Warren Moon Drafted brett farve in 1st round in early 2000's....said "that guys a hall of famer, you gotta have him on your team" Think it was '04, the first year they recognized that FF existed. It was like a 6 team, 5 player league. They didn't even have an idea how to set up a league and they started a show to give "advice." I missed on Irvin though. He may be worse. But, he has been the reason for my mute button for so long now that he did not come to mind. I also have to bring up the whiny voiced Phil Simms. He could talk for 3 hours on how to put on 1 sock and 4 more on how to put on the second one. And, he never says anything that is more insightful than "if you want to hit the toilet, you gotta aim at it." Just never that succinct.

I remember that...it was soooooo bad, but on the other hand, I loved their retarded advice because a couple of the people in one of my leagues seemed to follow their tips. Finished 12th I believe. football_scooter 0 Posted July 10, 2006 He was not funny to those of us who did catch his jokes. Agreed - IMO, he jumped the shark when he stopped being funny and started pulling out NFL historical and statistical factoids and tried to play it all off like it was just stuff he knew. When he stopped being himself and tried to be a real football guy, he sucked. None of it came off as genuine...more like annoying.
