texasmouth 1 Posted July 11, 2006 That is the difference between a guy like Ripken and a lot of the athletes today. The All Star game should be an honor. It isnt treated that way anymore. Athletes have really forgotten about the fans. And Fock Bary Bonds. Just for good measure.
hoytdwow 202 Posted July 11, 2006 That is the difference between a guy like Ripken and a lot of the athletes today. The All Star game should be an honor. It isnt treated that way anymore. Athletes have really forgotten about the fans. I don't understand why people get all bent about athletes not attending the all-star game. If they don't want to go, so what? Maybe they'd rather play with their kids for 3 days, or go visit their dying grandma, or sit on the beach and read a book for christ sake. More power to 'em, I say. And Fock Bary Bonds. Just for good measure. I'm behind you 100% on this.

edjr 6,580 Posted July 11, 2006 Ass. That's pretty much what he looked like on the field. Wonderful, he played a long time and din't miss any games. That actually HURT his team, didn't help it. Congrats Cal on being one of the most selfish players the game has ever had.

texasmouth 1 Posted July 12, 2006 Cal Ripken, one of the most over-rated baseball players in the history of MLB. One of the most idiotic comments in the history of this bored. The guy played the game with heart and class. Unlike the spoiled poosay player we have today who are juiced up on drugs or slapping their wives around, Ripken just showed up to work day in and day out and gave it everything he had. No one is denying his heart or class. Just showing up to work everyday doesnt NOT make him overrated. For a good portion of "The Streak" Ripken was just incredibly ok. edjr 6,580 Posted July 12, 2006 The guy played the game with heart and class. Heart and class is what it takes to be considered one of the best ever and make the HOF? Rich Gedman should be receiving a call any day now for his induction into the HOF.
