Reggie Bush..Where do you draft him?

Recommended Posts

Where do you guys see Bush being drafted? 3rd -4th round? My personal situation is this: Standard scoring, 6pts per td. 1 pt per rec. 1 pt per 10 yards ru. and 10 yrds rec. ect... This is a 10 man league we keep three players. So im more less forced to keep Randy Moss, Jamal Lewis and Stephan Jackson. I also have the first pick (and yes that means I finished last!) So with the first pick in what will bassically be the fourth round do I take Reggie Bush as my future keeper/stud? I did this in 1998 with Moss and have had him ever since. Though the past two years werent the best he certainly has been more of an assit than liability. So please, please give me your thoughts on Bush!!!

In your situation, I'd take him. Total redraft, I wouldn't be taking him till later, but he would be gone by then I'm sure.

Some people are high on Bush this year. I'm not. I'm actually going to leave him to another owner to worry about. In a 12 man redraft, I would take him in the 6th round if I HAD to.

I'm in a 3 keeper league also. Assuming Bush reports sometime in the next 3 weeks, I am taking him with the first pick in my PPR league. I made a lot of trades last year for the #1 spot, even giving up Steven Jackson. I think Bush is too talented to pass up in PPR leagues. As he gets older he should only get better. I play to win every year. I know I may be giving up some points by not selecting a different RB but I don't think the downside to Bush is that low. I can go with Bush as my RB2 and still win my league.

FYI, in a draft we did on the 15th (Moz's league) he went #2 overall in a two player keeper league where almost everyone kept two players. 1 or 2 owners just kept 1 player. S-Jax went first.

On the low side, I see Bush checking in at around 60 receptions, 1400 total yards, and 10 total TDs. These are pretty respectable numbers that will allow you to compete this year, especially in ppr leagues. In the long term, you NEED to draft Bush #1 in any keeper league. He is going to revolutionize the RB position in 2-3 years.

I would do it but mainly for his production over the next couple years not this year. I just don't see him getting enough reps to put up serious numbers but then again you never know how he is going to be utilized but it wouldn't surprise me if it was in a split role with Deuce.

I am in the same type of league except oo pt per rec.

#1 pick will be keeping (Portis, Caddy, and Either DD or Fitz). If he keeps Fitz, I believe he will take Bush if he keeps DD, he can pick between S. Smith, Fitz, CJ.

#2 pick will be keeping S-Jax, JJ, and T.O. - I believe he will not take Bush and go DD if #1 drops him or next best WR

#3 pick will be keeping Dunn, Westbrook, and R. Moss - He will take Bush if available

#4 pick will be keeping C-pep, McAllister, & J. J Lewis - He will also take Bush if available

Oh yeah, we start 3 RB, so these early picks all should be looking to land a solid #3.

Really??? Those look like BEST case scenerios for a back up rookie...without a defined position yet...on New Orleans...who will miss training camp most likely. I think low side/conservative figures would be more like 800 total yards and 6 TDs for this year.

I would predict... 1100 total yards and 7 TDs this year. He has the potential to blow up, but lets not put him in the HoF yet.

As for the topic question...He will go in the late 2nd or 3rd round to a manager that is willing to take a risk. Every league has that guy that stretches for a player in the 3rd round that other manager were hoping to get a deal for in the 5th round.

Here is the problem with Bush this year... He will not be a good consistant Fantasy player. Sure he might have 1000 total yards but its so hit or miss. One week 100 yards, next week 20 yards all season long. I like to know what I will get out of my players week in and out.

Here is the problem with bush in the future: the dude is fast as hell, and as the case is with most speed guys one hammy pull or stubed toe makes you lose a step. If Bush is not 95% healthy he is an average 3 down back. I need to see this guy take 16 games of NFL hits for me to belive he will be a stud. He was so fast in college I don't think he took the big hits he will see in the NFL

he ran behind a monster line in college. He won't have that luxury in the NFL. He was much faster than everyone, he won't have that luxury in the NFL.

I see Eric Metcalf with too much Media Hype.

I'll pass on him this year. He'd be a cool explosive RB3, but he's going in the 4th round and someone else can have him at that price. They'll find ways to get him the ball, but he'll be too inconsistent without a defined role on his team.

dont get why he is going so high

put it this way, you are taking a Westbrook who wont see action inside the 20

he wont get short yardage carries and will be taking more frequent breathers due to his special teams play

i see less value in him than Deuce

for the keeper question, how is this situation going to get resolved next year?

it isn't, Deuce resigned and will in all likelihood be splitting again next year taking away GL and short yardage again

its very hard to say when, if ever, he will have full time duties and until then i dont see a lot of value

Well put, and exactly why I will let someone else have the headache. I always stay away from anyone who is so way over-hyped.

no earlier than the 4th round and he'll go before that so i won't have him so this is a moot point.

There is a reason why all the scouts hyped this guy up saying he was the second coming of Gale Sayers, etc. Its because his talented is unquestioned. Everyone talks about his Rose Bowl performance and if getting 175 yards and a td is being shut down, i'd love to have him.

For keeper purposes, the guy will be a monster. In year 3, i'd say he'll be one of the top 5 picks in any league. What peoiple don't seem to understand is that 4.3 speed is fast no matter who he's playing agains. Plus, the guy is incredibly strong as his combine numbers showed.

Reggie Bush will not be Eric Metcalf as some have suggested. He'll be closer to sayers.
