Trading Picks #3 for #1

Recommended Posts

As my league has never allowed trading of draft picks until this year I am unfamiliar with what a good value is in doing this.

#1 overall has no preference between the top 3. He wants to trade his number 1 for my number 3 and wants ME to make him an offer. I would like to have #1 as I want SA.

What do you offer the number 1 overall for this and how does it affect the rest of the draft? Do you just trade the pick for the entire draft or just for the first 2 rounds? Or alternating rounds?

I don't want to give up much obviously as I'd be content with SA, LJ, or LT, so what would be the least offer I should make to swap spots? Besides straight up as he has already said no tho that.

Lend me your opinions

Interesting...you don't think that is giving up too much for just 2 higher picks?

Hmmm

Maybe you are right. I'll do that.

Thanks :ninja:

If you were #1 and keep in mind YOU came to me #3

and said you would trade picks for a higher second round

draft pick because you do not care which of the big 3 you get.

Would you swap the 1st overall pick for third overall JUST for round 1 & 2.

You'd get #3, #18, and #21

I would get #1, #20 and #23

What would you do?

If that was the scenario, then I'd pull the trigger and move the 1st pick for the 3rd pick. Let's be real...there really isnt a drop off if you select any of the 1st 3 picks. But..to be in position of drafting a lil bit higher in rounds 2 and 3, that's definately a plus!
