Brown Eyed Girl 1 Posted August 7, 2006 Our average electric bill is about $175/month to run a 3 bedroom house with forced air, pool and a jacuzzi. However, 2 months ago the bill showed up and it was $306. We were like so we completely cut down on the A/C use, lights, everything. Next month the bill arrived and regardless of using less energy at the house, the bill was even higher at $464!!! Well, A/C stopped working and we couldn't get anyone out to even fix it for over 2-1/2 weeks, and we cut back even more on everything else and the bill comes today and it's $525! wtf??? Rusty Syringes 478 Posted August 7, 2006 Those weekend pill-popping, alcohol-swilling raves you've been throwing for the neighborhood teen-agers is probably chewing up a lot of electricity.

dolfan06 1 Posted August 7, 2006 I have a crew of Mexicans who handle the air conditioning and bill paying functions in my house, so I'm afraid I can't be much help. Sorry.
BMoney 0 Posted August 7, 2006 your monthly amount is going down.. but since you dont pay your bill, it keeps adding up.. next month will be 636 followed by a phone call or 2 and a threatening flicker of the lights... see how that works? good luck to you then! I have the same problem. California has not done a very good job with their power plants (not enough) in the past 10 years or so, and we are now finally paying the price for it. Toro 1 Posted August 7, 2006 Look at your KwH usage patterns. If there isn't a spike, you should look at the "fuel costs". my kwh usage has stayed consistent from last year and my electric has gone up 65%.

They tell him that the rates have been increased by 43% and it is due to the higher cost of gas.

Recliner Pilot 61 Posted August 8, 2006 I have the same problem. California has not done a very good job with their power plants (not enough) in the past 10 years or so, and we are now finally paying the price for it. Hehe. Yep, it's just us Texans who have built beyond capacity selling power to you eco-nutjobs out in Cali once again at an outrageous price. You better hope we don't need all that electricity here in Tx or we will just turn the switch off on your Prius driving a$$es.
