Sho Nuff 720 Posted August 11, 2006 I think the point is that Barnett is an average middle linebacker. I don't see him as a key to the defense. I disagree..I think last year he showed he is better than average...and is showing he is a vocal leader of the defense right now.
Jeremy 0 Posted August 11, 2006 I read the Lions thread...some funny stuff. Me too. After reading that, I think the 2 week time out is probably a good idea. The flaming was starting to get in the way of good conversation on the topics at hand. Is Barnett really "just average"? My understanding is that he was one of the better LBs in the league. Not in Ray Lewis' league or anything, but better than average, I thought.

ROBOKOP 0 Posted August 11, 2006 As a Packer fan, we can be proud to stand behind our team and be vocal even when we finish 4-12. We are not like the bandwagoneers of some of those other NFC central teams. Give credit to Swamp to staying behind his perpetual loser Lions. I try to stay objective and there are many reasons this year to be optimistic about the Packers. I follow every little news bit I can get my hands on about the team. Some of the information is way too positive and makes it sound like we are the next superbowl champs, but all in all, I think we have the potential to really turn things around. We are not a 4-12 team and our rivals will scoff at that, but we as fans know what our team is capable of. Now it will be all about tapping the potential and getting things done. Sure, there are areas of concern as there is with most teams. Whats going on with the receivers after Driver, Green's injury recovery, the o-line, the new zone blocking scheme. But we have the talent as Favre said to make it happen. Can I guarantee things will work out.....no, but If I had to put money on it, I think the Packers will surpise a lot of people this year the way they rebound. The Packers will finish no less than 8-8 and will challenge for the division crown. The defense will turn head and the offense will start slow and improve thoughout the year. Go Pack! See you guys at Lambeau on Sept 1!
Red White and Blue 81 Posted August 11, 2006 Favre playing left-handed is far better than any quarterback the Eagles have had or ever will have. HTH Then why does he keep losing to the Eagles?

donhaas 18 Posted August 11, 2006 Then why does he keep losing to the Eagles? The Eagles have had a better team. 'cept for that season a few years ago when the Packers completely dominated the Eagles in every way for both games, but the Eagles lucked out in the end. donhaas 18 Posted August 11, 2006 [cletus] duly noted [/cletus] technically they lucked out before Favre choked it away, though...

donhaas 18 Posted August 13, 2006 How is the defense going to play? Addition of Pickett, Hawk, Woodson. Should be interesting... Guards... How long will it take them to get in sync. Who's going to be the #2 receiver? Jennings, Fergie, Gardner, or Boer I didn't know Gannon was working for the Packers now.
zhinz 0 Posted August 13, 2006 Ahmad Carroll continues to suck. Yet another wasted draft pick. Thanks, Sherman. I've taken over this thread for talking about the GB / SD game by the way.
