Just to update an earlier prediction...

a month or so back, someone posted a thread asking for some deep sleeper WR's.. i responded with Jerricho Cotchery. (so im patitng myself on the back a little but this post is more to update things)

 

im not going to get ahead of myself yet but as of now McCariens can not get out of Mangini's doghouse and Cotchery received the start in tonights pre-season game against Washington.

 

im sure most of you read the update on the front page of FFtoday so this isnt new news.

 

Cotchery doesnt quite have the size Justin does (6-0 vs 6-2) but he has more speed and a better burst. Lately he seems to show more heart and is putitng up a better fight in TC. Considering all positions were labeled as open-battles, you know Mangini likes seeing his players going all out as if their jobs depend upon it.

I would not be surprised at all to see Cotchery take away the starting job from McCariens for good come opening day... This was my thinking behind listing him as a sleeper this year. A lot fot hings need to fall into place however. The Jets need to develope a decent offense with a running game, helathy QB and improved offensive line... I think Cotchery will do his part and earn the starting job, its just up to the Jets O to give him a chance to shine.

thanks for all the work, but the problem is you cant pick a sleeper on a team THAT DOESNT SCORE. One of the worst O's in the league.

chill out NASDAQ, i think i pretty much stated that all the planets had to align for him to be a valuable fantasy contributor... just trying to update that he is doing his part to make my prediction come true.

first you say not to talk about it because the Jets have no offense. then you just say cotchery himself could never produce consistantly... would you care to provide some explanation? is this because the Jets o sucks and you are basically repeating youself or do you have some insider info on why Cotchery the player wont be good? Does he have an injury history i am unaware of? Is he deathly afraid of the endzone?
