NastyNate 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Dillon could turn out to be a steal in some drafts as he still has a couple good years left in him and can do a solid job in NE if he remains healthy even though he has Maroney right on his tail who may or may not steal some carries. Westbrook on the other hand is the starter and doesn't have anybody stealing carries or riding his tail. Westbrook is always hurt though so he is a big risk unless he can somehow remain healthy. Who would you rather have?
jagermeister 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Westbrook...and get Dillon in the third or fourth.
ravenmad22 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Dillon... yuck. Westbrook is way ahead on my draft board this season. I don't expect Dillon to a workhorse by any means with Maroney there. I think Dillon will be going the way of Curtis Martin this season.
djrockstar 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Westy in PPR. Dillon where you get bonus points for being a grumpy underachieving malcontent.
Snotpipes 0 Posted August 30, 2006 I'd take Dillon. Westbrook has been out all of training camp practically cause of his foot injury. He hasn't even practiced with the 1st team. He's already been fitted for special shoes, and he was quoted yesterday on a sportstalk show that he's, "about 80%, I'm not yet where I want to be." He's been resting for about a month and he's only 80%. So that means he's gonna be about 40% after playing 4 or 5 games straight. I know Dillon had injury problems last year and he has Maroney looking over his shoulder, but NE gets everyone involved in the offense and I can't help but think that Dillon is gonna do good things this year. Westbrook's injury doesn't make me feel too confident right now.
HilltopperVike 0 Posted August 30, 2006 I'd easily take Westy over Dillon. I got Dillon as my RB3 (Brown, Gore, Dillon).
Darb33 0 Posted August 30, 2006 This year I would only take Dillon if I had Maroney.
Little Big Head 6 Posted August 30, 2006 I agree that Dillon could be a nice value pick, but it should be noted that Maroney has looked really sharp so far in pre season. I'd rather have Westbrook
Churchill610 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Westbrook. It's tough to pass up all those PPR's. Maroney's going to cut into Dillon's carries this season.
HowieWan 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Personally, I think that NE is going to be more than happy letting Maroney develop for a year. I'd take Dillon over Westbrook purely because Dillon is going to score 12 or more TDs. Westbrook scares me more than Dillon as an injury risk, and as long as Dillon stays healthy he will get the ball 20-25 times a game. But definitely don't reach for him until the 4th round... rebooters 1 Posted August 30, 2006 rather have westy but i think dillon will suprise alot this year. the presence of maroney is making alot of people bash dillon(plus his age i guess?). i think dillon is a steal considering his adp and i wouldnt be suprised if he gets close to westy in FF pts. take DILLON later. no need to take him in the 2nd round, as you can see no one else is gonna take him so just wait. HilltopperVike 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Exactly. No reason at all to take Dillon in 2nd. I got Dillon in the 5th rnd in a competitive league!
