JaceDuhAce 0 Posted September 6, 2006 I drafted Owens, Roy Williams, Stallworth, Javon and Matt Jones. Greg Jennings is a FA, I'm thinking about dropping Jones and grabbing Jennings. Is that a good move and why/why not?
gobuckeyes 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Jones has more talent than Jennings, is not a rookie WR, and plays for a better team. I don't think you should consider this. Neither has much of a shot at out performing your top 3 (TO, Williams, Walker) but if either of them could do it it would definately be Jones.
kbtegp 0 Posted September 6, 2006 At this point Jennings isnt worth dropping any ofthose players for. If youre in a redraft league, he wont play even if you do pick him up. Now, if youre carrying twp TE, PK, or D's then by all means drop one and get him.

He excited me because absolutely no one saw him coming from 3rd string to starting with Driver. You have solid WR depth. Even though Jennings did awesome in preseason, hes still questionable because of lack of experience. All of your WR proved well last season and you should stick with them. tiger99 0 Posted September 6, 2006 I wouldnt drop Matt Jones for Jennings. Jones should be the #1 guy in Jax with Jimmie Smith retired. Is there someone else you could drop to pickup Jennings... a second TE, K, or Def? GB will be playing from behind alot which means they will throw alot. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=228992
JaceDuhAce 0 Posted September 6, 2006 I have 6 RBs but I'm kind of counting on a few of them to eventually start. My Rbs are SA, McGahee, Bush, M Barber, Norwood, Toefield. I'm in a 10 team league and we play 1 qb, 2rb, 2 wr, 1 flex wr/rb, 1 te, 1 k, 1 d. My other players are Watson at TE, Kaeding, Chicago, Warner and CPepp. I suppose I could drop Toefield but I'm thinking he might be nice to have if Taylor goes down. gpann101 32 Posted September 6, 2006 I like Jennings alot...he is the #2 guy in GB . However, jax still is undecided on who will be the #1....another way to think about it,would you rather have a wr with Lefty or Farve throwing to him? Jennings = money in the bank 75 / 1050 / 9tds

So if all my WRs do well I could possibly trade one for a starting RB. Does that make sense?

Jones more talent than Jennings, absolutely NOT! Why on earth wouldn't he make this move? Jones is still unproven, as he did not show much last year, not to mention the Jacksonville passing attack is miserable. And like was said previously, who would you rather have throwing the ball? Left t i t t y or Favre. Not to mention GB will likely be playing from behind a lot this year and be forced to throw the ball. There is no reason you should not make this move. You're top three are solid and you'd never play Jones anyway. I like Jennings this year to be similar to Michael Clayton 2 years ago and put up great numbers. In fact, I'm thinking about doing the same, but I have a problem of who to drop. My WR's are DJax, Coles, Kennison, both Clayton boys, D. Bennett, and L. Evans. sbono13 0 Posted September 6, 2006 My WR's are DJax, Coles, Kennison, both Clayton boys, D. Bennett, and L. Evans. Jones has 7 inches on Jennings in height, and is much faster. That said, I agree that Jennings is a nice gamble, but I would not drop any of the original poster's WRs for him, including Jones (a safer gamble, IMO, since he will be a featured receiver, and actually did ok last season in his first year as a WR and a WR3). I dropped Roddy White for Jennings, but that was a relatively easy decision, since ATL WR's are trash. OTOH, I'd drop Toefield for Jennings in a heartbeat. So what if he's got the height, what he doesn't have is the intangibles that Jennings brings to the table. I would not say he's much faster, as Jennings can burn. Jennings has a mind for the game and runs MUCH better routes. I didn't know that these were even OK numbers: 36-432-5. Albeit, they are not horrible, but I can guarantee Jennings comes close to doubling that. Whereas Jones will not get even 50-700-5 this year.
throttlers 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Jones is the #1 WR on his team. Jennings may be an up and coming talent, but he won't see near as many balls as Jones will this year. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=229185
gobuckeyes 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Whoride: How do you know so much about Greg Jennings? Did you get all this from his preseason play? May I remind you that he has not even played in a real NFL game yet.

I have not said flat out Jennings will for sure be a stud. But his potential is through the roof. And with Driver drawing double coverage so often, Jennings will get a lot of looks. Favre is more dependable than Leftwich by far. I am not sold on Jones. Jennings is an excellent route runner with twice the hands of Jones. I know a lot about him because I've watched him closely this preseason, which of course means nothing, but if he lives up to what he did, he will be a stud. Jennings = money in the bank 75 / 1050 / 9tds He may surpass 1k yards....BUT 9 tds. I'm an optimistic die-hard Packer fan, and I dont even see that coming. More realistic #'s would be 60 / 700-850 / 5 tds
abussey13 1 Posted September 7, 2006 I have the same dilemma. Do you guys think that Jennings is worth dropping Brandon Jacobs for? Any help appreciated.
