Addai or Barlow...I have to start 1 of them this week

Recommended Posts

My running back situation is pretty crappy now that Domanic Davis is out for the year. He was my #2 behind Rudi Johnson. My other 2 backs are Kevan Barlow and Joseph Addai. I have to start 1 of them behind Johnson this week.....but which one?

:dunno:

If you have no other options, I would say Addai. Face it, its a coin flip and you probably wont get an answer you like either way. I think Addai just because I think he will see a little bit more action.

Well, the ideal situation is not to start either player....

That being said, it sounds like you have no other options so here is what I would do:

I wouldnt start Addai.

1) he's never been a starter before in his life.

2) he has looked terrible in preseason. While I agree, Preseason results arent everything, I think you do at least consider the fact he didnt look like he can run the ball and at least wait until he proves he can get results.

3) Domenic Rhodes was announced to be the starter. As such I dont expect much from Addai in game 1.

While I acknowledge that Barlow will be the #2 RB for game 1 also... Blaylock is not a guy that has instilled confidence in the coaching staff. The reason they brought barlow in is to play, and I do think he will get significant carries even if hes not the starter. Meanwhile Addai is running behind Rhodes who has actually had a 1000 yard rushing season. I would expect Rhodes will be tougher to unseat than Blaylock.

I think its a no brainer and you should start Barlow.
